La MaMa Presents the World Premiere of OYSTERS ORGASMS OBITUARIES Beginning 12/1

La MaMa has announced that the world premiere of Oysters Orgasms Obituaries, written and performed by Raïna von Waldenburg, and designed and directed by Zishan Ugurlu, will begin performances Thursday, December 1 at 7:30pm, with a press opening set for Sunday, December 4, at 3pm, in La MaMa's First Floor Theatre, 74A East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Oysters Orgasms Obituaries is part of La MaMa's 50th anniversary season.

Castillo Theatre Announces The Learning Play of Rabbi Levi-Yitzhok

The Castillo Theatre (Dan Friedman, artistic director, Diane Stiles, managing director) is opening its 28th theatre season with the revival of its first show, Friedman's The Learning Play of Rabbi Levi-Yitzhok, Son of Sara, of Berditchev, directed by Moshe Yassur, a veteran of the Romanian, Israeli and French stages and the former director of the Jewish division of the New Federal Theatre.

Director Rachel Klein Nominated for 2 NY Innovative Theatre Awards

Director and choreographer Rachel Klein was nominated for two New York Innovative Theatre Awards last night including Outstanding Director and Outstanding Choreography/Movement for The House Of Yes' Circus of Circus, which was also nominated for Outstanding Costume Design (Kae Burke), Outstanding Innovative Design (Kae Burke), and Outstanding Production of a Play.

La MaMa To Reprise Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theatre's GOLEM

In a featured presentation of its 50th Anniversary season, La MaMa E.T.C. will reprise 'Golem' by Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theatre (CAMT), a dance-theater rendition of the famed Jewish legend that may have been the first-ever puppet 'Golem' when La MaMa presented it in 1997.

Horse Trade Theater Group in association with Hard Sparks will present Eightythree Down, written by J. Stephen Brantley (Village Voice Pick of the Year for Distortion Taco; Winner of 2011 Fresh Fruit One-Act Competition for Shiny Pair of Complications) and directed by Daniel Talbott (2007 NYIT Award for Outstanding Direction of Rules of the Universe; Keep Your Baggage With You (at all times) at Theater for the New City).
