Co-Artistic Directors Mark Ravenhill and Hannah Price, Producer Sofi Berenger and the whole team at the King's Head Theatre, have announced the first details of SPRINGBOARD: a festival for shows that lost a performance slot after the cancellation of VAULT Festival, and for companies that were impacted due to the pandemic.

Further details have been announced for KHT50 Barstools to Broadway from The Kings Head Theatre the celebration taking place from 14 – 19 February, marking the successes of the world-renowned pub theatre's first 50 years with a series of readings of plays that started their lives there, with cast and creative teams with links to the playwrights and original shows.

Alexis Gregory’s critically acclaimed production Riot Act returns in 2022 to celebrate LGBT History Month.  Direct from the West End and touring the UK, this online ‘reimagining’ has been created using interviews with a Stonewall survivor, a radical drag artist, and an AIDS activist.  This audience favourite solo show is filmed at the Hackney Empire and will be available to watch throughout February. 

In February 2022, The Kings Head Theatre will present 'Barstools to Broadway', a celebration to mark the successes of the world-renowned pub theatre's first 50 years, and it looks forward to the next 50 years in a new purpose built 220 seat Islington theatre due to open in late 2022. 

Future Spotlight Productions in collaboration with KidZania London today announced that Cinderella will be available Stream.Theatre from 17 December until 10 January 2022. Filmed in the immersive city of KidZania, Cinderella is a festive production for all ages, featuring a West End cast, audience interaction and much-loved pantomime characters.

Tickets go on sale today for Rosie Day's debut play Instructions for a Teenage Armageddon at Southwark Playhouse's the Little, which will open on 9 February 2022 running until 5 March, with press night on 10 February.

Through an imagined conversation between a psychiatrist on the brink and the academic who would go on to write books steeped in theology, the play gives a heightened tension to the age old questions of faith, love, sex and existence itself.

Following their Halloween Adult Nights, Future Spotlight Productions and KidZania London today announces a Christmas Adult Nights, a one-off musical theatre spectacular at the immersive KidZania indoor city featuring immersive role-play activities, festive cocktails on entry and live performances from musical theatre stars.

The Barn Theatre in Cirencester have today announced the full cast and creative team for the premiere of the musical play The Brothers Grimm Present: Cinderella, which will run at the Cotswold venue from 16 November 2021 – 2 January 2022.

Brand-new musical comedy Bluff, written exclusively for radio by Matt Cavendish and Ed Zanders is available to download on Monday 18 October, following a full studio recording with West End cast and musicians at Masterchord Studios London. The full radio-play, complete with foley sound effects, is designed to take the listener on a vivid journey through a larger-than-life world, accompanied by a live studio orchestra.

Straight White Men by Korean American playwright Young Jean Lee is a hilarious and revealing play about the most unoppressed of this world’s peoples.   

Following being filmed and streamed in 2020, this thrilling adaptation by Nick Lane of Robert Louis Stevenson’s dark psychological fantasy is touring the country from September 2021 – May 2022 with over 100 dates, immersing audiences in the myth and mystery of 19th century London.  

As The Hope Theatre looks towards reopening at the end of June, the Board of Trustees has announced that Kennedy Bloomer will be stepping down as the Artistic Director of The Hope Theatre, Islington in August 2021 to pursue a career in teaching and theatre fundraising. 

Industry panelists Scott Irgang, Ryan Conway and Carl Pasbjerg will discuss how to get shows and audiences back into our theaters in New York and nationwide. The discussion will be moderated by Tony Award-winning Commercial Theatrical Producer and EAG Council Member Margot Astrachan.
