Ghostlight Records has announced it will record a cast album of the new musical Alice By Heart. The show's current New York premiere production from MCC Theater (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) was recently extended through April 7. Alice By Heart has a book by Steven Sater and Jessie Nelson; music by Duncan Sheik, lyrics by Steven Sater, and direction by Jessie Nelson. Choreography is by Rick and Jeff Kuperman. The album - produced by Duncan Sheik and Kurt Deutsch, with Craig Balsam and Cody Lassen serving as executive producers - is being recorded March 24-25.

The cast and creative team have been announced for the Signature Theatre production of Octet, a world premiere musical by three-time Tony Award nominee Dave Malloy and directed by Annie Tippe. Octet is the first production in Malloy's Signature Residency, which will include three productions over the course of five years.

MCC Theater announces a one week extension for Alice By Heart and the musical will now play through Sunday, April 7th with tickets now on sale. Ticket demand has been extremely high for the show which has music by Duncan Sheik ; lyrics by Steven Sater and book by Steven Sater and Jessie Nelson.

Concord Music's Craft Recordings and The Public Theater announce the release of the original Public Works cast recording of the critically acclaimed 2018 Free Shakespeare in the Park production of TWELFTH NIGHT.

The Alley Theatre and Interim Artistic Director James Black announce the cast and crew of the 2018-19 Hubbard Season opener, Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare, directed by Jonathan Moscone. The Alley presents an inventive, nontraditional, yet faithful production of Twelfth Night set in the 1930s that showcases not only the resident acting company, but also a diverse group of performers making their Alley debut. Planet Connections' signature event, PLAYWRIGHTS FOR A CAUSE at the Theater at the 14th Street Y, played to a sold-out crowd that joyously handed the team of writers and other artists a standing ovation. This year, the event, designed to address hot-button topics concerning the world at that moment through new works by prominent authors - written just for the event - dealt with the distinctions between gender and sexuality.
