Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song was recently extended for two additional weeks of performances at Second Stage Theater and will now play through Sunday, December 3. Directed by Mois s Kaufman, Torch Song begins previews tonight, September 26, and officially opens on October 19 at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theater (305 West 43rd Street).

In June of 2014, the new Broadway musical HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME, based on the music of Tupac Shakur, opened on Broadway. Starring the spoken word artist Saul Williams, as well as Broadway veterans Tonya Pinkins (CAROLINE OR CHANGE) and Christopher Jackson (IN THE HEIGHTS), the show shuttered after just 17 previews and 38 performances.

The unique musical HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME getting a second chance at Atlanta's True Colors Theater Company, co-founded by 'Holler' director Kenny Leon in 2002. The show opened at the 375-seat theater located in Atlanta's Cascade Heights neighborhood on September 12th and will run through October 8th. Producer Hal Luftig announced today that Mark Medoff's landmark play, Children of a Lesser God, will return to Broadway this spring for the first time since its Tony Award-winning premiere production.  Starring Joshua Jackson and introducing Lauren Ridloff, both making their Broadway debuts, and directed by Tony Award-winner Kenny Leon, Children of a Lesser God will begin performances at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street) on Thursday, March 22nd.  Opening night is set for Wednesday, April 11, 2018.

It has been a wild beginning to the week in terms of Broadway announcements, as not one, not two, but three shows announced main stem intentions for the next year.
