Broadway's biggest night is just around the bend! Hollywood star and multiple Tony Award-winning Broadway legend Matthew Broderick - renowned for roles including Ferris Bueller in the iconic movie and Leo Bloom in The Producers - makes his West End debut in in The Starry Messenger by Kenneth Lonergan, the Academy Award-winning writer of Manchester-By-The-Sea. Book tickets here!

A decade after originating the lead role Off Broadway, Matthew Broderick returns to Kenneth Lonergan's play to make his West End debut. His devotion to the material is certainly understandable, as the part is tailor-made for his signature brand of self-effacing deadpan - a placid mask covering existential angst.

Hollywood star and multiple Tony Award-winning Broadway legend Matthew Broderick - renowned for roles including Ferris Bueller in the iconic movie and Leo Bloom in The Producers - tonight made his West End debut at the Wyndham's Theatre in The Starry Messenger by Kenneth Lonergan, the Academy Award-winning writer of Manchester-By-The-Sea. 

It is a challenge to convey in words the power, importance and relevance of this production. Even harder still, the impact it has on audience members. What I can and will say is that it should not be missed and, be sure to be present and attentive to the inspiring message in the closing line.

The Drama League (Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Artistic Director) today announced the 2019 Drama League Awards Nominees for Outstanding Production of a Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award. The nominations were announced this morning by the current stars of Waitress, Shoshana Bean and Jeremy Jordan, at the official announcement event at Sardi's Restaurant, which was streamed live online here at BroadwayWorld.

The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF), the not-for-profit foundation of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), will host a conversation entitled 'Producing Theatre for an Ageless Audience', moderated by Linda Hartzell, SDC Foundation Trustee and Artistic Director Emerita of Seattle Children's Theatre, with luminary directors Mark Brokaw and Marcia Milgrom Dodge and playwright Timothy Allen McDonald on Monday May, 20, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM at SDC, 321 W. 44th St., Suite 804.

Jenny Galloway is known for her appearances in Les Miserables, Sweeney Todd and Mamma Mia!. She speaks to BroadwayWorld about her latest role in Kenneth Lonergan's The Starry Messenger, alongside Matthew Broderick and Elizabeth McGowan, which begins at Wyndham's Theatre this week.

Gloucester Stage Artistic Director Robert Walsh and Interim Managing Director Chris Griffith recently announced that the non-profit theater's 40th anniversary season will include regional premiere of The Lifespan of a Fact from August 30 through September 22.  Gloucester Stage will be the first theater in the country to produce the critically-acclaimed The Lifespan of a Fact since the play's SRO smash hit world premiere Broadway run featuring Daniel Radcliffe, Cherry Jones, and Bobby Cannavale closed in January 2019.

Shakespeare & Company's season opens Memorial Day Weekend with Pulitzer Prize finalist The Waverly Gallery by Kenneth Lonergan, directed by Founding Artistic Director Tina Packer. This powerful story sheds a heartrending and humorous light on the effects of senility on a family. Performances run from May 23rd - July 14th in the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre.

Contra Costa Civic Theatre (CCCT) today announced its 60th Main Stage season, including the East Bay premiere of a foot-stomping bluegrass musical, a beloved holiday tale as a radio show, a fresh-from- Broadway comedy/drama about one family's coming to terms with aging, the Bay Area premiere of the rest of the LBJ story, and a joyous gospel musical.
