Review: TWO, Park Theatre

There is a moment in TWO where you could hear a pin drop: the affable 1980s soundtrack shuts off, and a glass shatters on the floor behind the bar. Review: PARLOUR SONG, Greenwich Theatre

In the Jez Butterworth canon, it’s easy to overlook Parlour Song. First staged at the Almeida in 2009 and not revived in the UK since, this kitchen sink drama lacks the fiery polemicism of The Ferryman or the bold state-of-the-nation reflectiveness of Jerusalem. Greenwich Theatre Artistic Director James Haddrell’s production makes a solid, if not entirely compelling, argument for revisiting this early work.

The cast has been announced for Parlour Song from playwright Jez Butterworth. This darkly comic play will receive its first major London revival since 2009 at Greenwich Theatre in May.

The classic play has all the set-pieces and much imitated dialogue in a revival that also underlines the persistence of the anxieties and neuroses it exposes.

Matt Di Angelo Joins the Cast of ABIGAIL'S PARTY at the Park Theatre

EastEnders fans will remember Matt and Kellie as brother and sister Dean and Carly Wicks, and Matt is also known for Strictly Come Dancing series five, where he came runner-up to Alesha Dixon.
