Primary Stage's THE MODEL APARTMENT Sells Out Limited Run at 59E59 Theaters

Primary Stages, has announced that their new production of The Model Apartment, by Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies (Shipwrecked!, Time Stands Still, Dinner with Friends, Sight Unseen) has sold out the remainder of its limited-engagement through November 1 at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters.

Primary Stages' THE MODEL APARTMENT Opens Tomorrow

Primary Stages (Casey Childs, Founder & Executive Producer; Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director; Elliot Fox, Managing Director), continues their 29th season with a new production of their acclaimed 1995 OBIE Award winner, The Model Apartment, by Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies (Shipwrecked!, Time Stands Still, Dinner with Friends, Sight Unseen). Opening night is tomorrow, Tuesday, October 15 at 7PM. John McGinty Joins Cast of Steppenwolf's TRIBES; Performances to Begin 12/5

Steppenwolf Theatre Company announces the addition of John McGinty to the cast of the upcoming Chicago-premiere production of Tribes by Nina Raine. Ensemble member Austin Pendleton directs, also featuring ensemble members Alana Arenas, Francis Guinan and Molly Regan with Steve Haggard and Helen Sadler. The American premiere of Tribes was Off-Broadway at Barrow Street Theater in 2012, featuring ensemble member Jeff Perry. McGinty joins the cast as Billy, after playing the role at Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. Russell Harvard, previously announced in the role, withdrew due to a schedule conflict. Tribes begins previews December 5, 2013 (opening night is December 15; press performances are December 14 at 3pm and December 17 at 7:30pm) and runs through February 9, 2014 in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St). Tickets ($20 - $82) go on sale Friday, October 4 at 11am.

Court Theatre to Present AN ILIAD Revival, 11/13-12/8

Court Theatre continues its 2013-2014 season with the revival of the OBIE Award-winning play An Iliad by Denis O'Hare and Lisa Peterson, directed by Artistic Director Charles Newell and starring Timothy Edward Kane. An Iliad will run November 13 - December 8, 2013 at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Avenue.

WALKING IN SOHO to Play Two Performances at NYMF Tonight

Songwriter Peter Yanowitz (of the bands The Wallflowers and Morningwood) premieres his new multimedia song cycle WALKING IN SOHO at the New York Musical Theatre Festival on July 25 at the Studio Theatre at the Pershing Square Signature Center. The show will feature direction and multimedia projection design by Randy Blair (Fat Camp, Spidermusical, Perez Hilton Saves the Universe), and will play 2 performances (6:30 and 9:30).

Alana Arenas and More Join Steppenwolf Theatre's TRIBES; Full Cast Announced!

Casting is complete for Steppenwolf Theatre Company's Chicago-premiere production of Tribes by Nina Raine. Court Theatre Kicks Off THE MOLIERE FESTIVAL: THE MISANTHROPE & TARTUFFE Today

Court Theatre Artistic Director Charles Newell and Executive Director Stephen J. Albert present The Moliere Festival: The Misanthrope & Tartuffe, written by Moliere with a translation by Richard Wilbur, and directed by Artistic Director Charles Newell. The Misanthrope will run today, May 9 - June 9, and Tartuffe will run June 20 -July 14 at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Avenue. Press Opening for The Misanthrope is Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 8:00 p.m., and Press Opening for Tartuffe is Friday, June 28 at 8:00 p.m.

Tuta Theatre Chicago Extends THE SILENT LANGUAGE Through 6/9

TUTA Theatre Chicago extends the latest show in its 11th season, The Silent Language, a U.S. premiere, written by Serbian playwright Miodrag Stanisavljevic, translated by Zoran Paunovic, and directed by Artistic Director Jacqueline Stone. The Silent Language, extended by three weekends, will run through Sunday, June 9 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., in addition to Saturday and Sunday matinees at 4 p.m., at TUTA Studio Theatre, 2010 W. Fulton Street. There will be no performances on Saturday, June 1 and will be an added 8 p.m. performance to Sunday, June 2. There is a suggested donation of $25 at the door for adults and $15 for industry/students/children under 18 at all performances. Seating is extremely limited. Reservations are highly recommended. All reservations must be claimed no later than 15 minutes before a performance or they will be released. This show is recommended for children ages eight and up.
