THE WOMEN'S MEDIA CENTER hosted their 2019 WOMEN'S MEDIA AWARDS on October 22nd at the Mandarin Oriental in New York City.

After World War II was over, we saw an increase in the American population thus characterizing that peace, love making lovers as 'the baby boomer' generation. They of course in turn gave birth to what is known as Generation X bringing a new age emergence of punk rock, grunge, and apparently both awesome and tasty cocktails. Generation X gave us millennials.

The soon-to-be-launched Disney Plus has brought on Jen D'Angelo to write the script for a 'Hocus Pocus' sequel, according to Collider exclusive.

Union County Performing Arts Center's Classic Film Series continues with Disney's cult classic Hocus Pocus (1993) on 35mm film. 

Disney Junior's 'The Rocketeer,' a new comedic, animated adventure series featuring a young girl named Kit Secord, who takes to the skies to protect her community after becoming the surprise recipient of a rocket-pack that gives her the ability to fly, will premiere FRIDAY, NOV. 8, on Disney Channel (11:00 a.m. EDT), Disney Junior (5:00 p.m. EDT) and DisneyNOW. Inspired by Dave Stevens' beloved superhero comic books and Walt Disney Pictures feature film, the series stars Kitana Turnbull ('A Series of Unfortunate Events') as Kit, and Billy Campbell and Kathy Najimy as her parents, Dave and Sareena Secord. Campbell is best-known for starring as Cliff Secord in 'The Rocketeer' film.

A is For hosted a benefit reading of Paula Kamen's documentary play Jane: Abortion and the Underground at Rattlestick on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. Proceeds from the benefit will support A is For's newly announced Abortion Playwriting Contest.

A new comedic, animated adventure series 'The Rocketeer'—inspired by Dave Stevens' beloved superhero comic books and Walt Disney Pictures feature film—follows Kit Secord after she learns she's secretly next in line to become The Rocketeer, a rocket- pack wearing superhero who can fly. The series will debut on Disney Channel and Disney Junior this fall with actor Billy Campbell, who starred as Cliff Secord in 'The Rocketeer' film, as the voice of Dave Secord, Kit's father. Kathy Najimy (Hocus Pocus) will voice Kit's mother, Sareena Secord, and Kitana Turnbull (A Series of Unfortunate Events) stars as Kit. The City Theatre's production of PARALLEL LIVES eschews elaborate sets, costumes, and production design in favor of highlighting its varied characters and the stories they bring to life. Sadly, the show suffers from a lack of dynamic entertainment value and holds a run time that will have you checking your watch surprised that it's not over yet.
