Tonys time is here at least! The nominations for the 75th Annual Tony Awards were announced this morning by Adrienne Warren and Joshua Henry. This year's nominees are checking in with BroadwayWorld to tell us all about how they got the news. Check back for live updates!

The Drama League today announced the 2022 Drama League Awards Nominees and we've got all the nominations for for Outstanding Production of a Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, Outstanding Direction of a Play, Outstanding Direction of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award.

Second Stage Theater has announced that Deeksha Gaur has joined the Company’s Board of Directors as a Trustee. Additionally, the Board is announcing the appointment of Janet Lynne Knopf, who joined the Board as a Trustee during the pandemic shutdown.

Today, January 16, Broadway says goodbye to four beloved productions. Flying Over Sunset will conclude its run at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre following 28 previews and 35 regular performances; Clyde's wraps up at the Hayes Theatre following 24 previews and 61 regular performances; Ain't Too Proud finishes it's almost three-year run at the Imperial Theatre after 21 previews and 488 regular performances; and To Kill A Mockingbird pauses performances at the Shubert Theatre following 45 previews and 626 regular performances.

Second Stage Theater's production of Lynn Nottage's new play CLYDE'S is currently running at Second Stage's Broadway home, the Hayes Theater. To celebrate the food-centric story, the production hosted a food truck event outside of its home. Check out photos from the event!

Second Stage Theater continues its commitment to nurturing American playwrights with THE 2022 JUDITH CHAMPION NEW VOICES READING SERIES, which supports early career playwrights with one-night-only professionally produced readings for Second Stage subscribers, donors, and general audiences. 

THE 2022 JUDITH CHAMPION NEW VOICES READING SERIES will kick off with Toros by Danny Tejera, directed by David Mendizábal, on January 18, 2022, followed by The Sensational Sea Mink-ettes by Vivian J.O. Barnes, directed by Cristina Angeles, on January 24, and will conclude with Yellow Dream$ by Susan Xu, directed by May Adrales on January 31. 

CAA Amplify, Broadway Advocacy Coalition, and The Movement Theatre Company co-hosted a celebration of this fall’s eight Black playwrights on Broadway. The event was held on Monday, December 6th at the Paradise Room at The Times Square EDITION.
