Other People's Money explores the difference between price and values.

The Colorado New Play Festival (CNPF) (Artistic Director Andrew Leynse) is proud to announce the full lineup of theaters, plays, playwrights for the 2019 season. Now in its 22nd season, each summer the Colorado New Play Festival brings together five creative teams who work with a major theatrical institution to create a new theatrical work.

Backs Against the Wall: The Howard Thurman Story explores the extraordinary life and legacy of one of the most important religious figures of the 20th century. Born the grandson of slaves, Howard Thurman became the “spiritual foundation” for the Civil Rights Movement, inspiring many of its leaders — including his close friend Martin Luther King, Jr. Featured in the film are a host of scholars, theologians, and Civil Rights pioneers including Congressman John Lewis, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Vernon Jordan, and more. Written and directed by Martin Doblmeier, the creator of dozens of award-winning films on faith, Backs Against the Wall premieres on the WORLD Channel today, February 8, 2019, 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET (check local listings), and on public television stations throughout the month of February.

'The Big Chocolate Show' returns to New York City this weekend for its third year and sets the stage for 'Chocolate Week NYC' that is held from September 28 to October 5, 2018. Today, American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.)'s Associate Artistic Director Andy Donald announced the lineup for A.C.T.'s third annualNew Strands Festival taking place at A.C.T.'s Strand Theater (1127 Market Street, San Francisco) May 17-20, 2018. Sponsored by Mozilla, the New Strands Festival is a free festival that features new theatrical pieces, works-in-progress, and readings, as well as live music, comedy, panel discussions, a master class series, and special happy hours to celebrate and share the artistry and expertise of the creative community within A.C.T.'s Conservatory, as well as from New Strands artists from the local and national theater scene.

This summer's Shakespeare in the Park production on the Town Stage will introduce audiences to two of Shakespeare's most famous and fraught lovers: Kate & Petruchio, played by Michael Raver (TV's TURN: Washington's Spies) and Telluride Theatre's own Cat Lee Covert (A Midsummer Night's Dream). Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, penned at the height of his powers as a playwright and London entertainer, is both a play full of deception, dress-up and ultimately one of the most tumultuous and true relationships between any two characters in any of his 38 plays.

Last night, stars of the stage and screen dazzled a full house at the Theatre at ACE Hotel during the first ever The 24 Hour Musicals: Los Angeles. The event raised money for the Dramatists Legal Defense Fund, a nonprofit arm of the Dramatists Guild of America, which advocates for the freedom of expression on behalf of all who are confronting censorship on stages across America. Today, The 24 Hour Musicals: Los Angeles announced that composer/lyricist Jesse Eisenberg (The Spoils), singer/songwriter Nellie McKay, Alex Newell (Glee), Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood, Daredevil), Ashley Fink (Glee), and Amanda Seales (Insecure) will join the star-studded line-up of talent participating in the first ever Los Angeles presentation of The 24 Hour Musicals, a one-night-only performance at the United Artists Theater at Ace Hotel on Monday, July 17.

Drama, intrigue and Wendy Williams are in full bloom this spring on LMN. In the LMN Original Movie, The Psycho She Met Online, Karen (Chelsea Hobbs, UnREAL) and her husband Andrew (Matthew Lawrence, Boy Meets World) decide to rent out spare rooms in their house to make ends meet.

FIRST DATE THE MUSICAL is a new musical with a book by Austin Winsberg and music and lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner. It's based around the various permutations of blind dating. It made its world premiere in 2012 at Seattle's ACT Theatre in a 5th Avenue Theatre co-production and made its Broadway debut in 2013. FIRST DATE THE MUSICAL has a noticeable sitcom quality. It also has genuine wit, charm and a musical panache that is a breath of fresh air compared to the overblown musicals being created these days. Set mostly in a Manhattan restaurant, it shows the audience the extremely awkward first date of Aaron (Scott Garrett Graham) and Casey (Marett Hanes), a serial dater who's clearly more experienced with romance Russian roulette. This blind date is Aaron's reentry into the world of romance after being ditched at the altar by his fiancee, Allison (Kate Sullivan Gibbons), and his nervousness is clearly evident. The couple's inner thoughts are revealed in the evening's musical numbers.
