The Show Must Go...Online! After careful consideration of the continued impact of COVID-19, the Hangar Theatre has made the decision to replace all of its live artistic programming this summer with new, virtual experiences. Artistic Director, Michael Barakiva states, a?oewe strongly believe that this is the only responsible decision because of the safety issues we are all facing as a community and nation. We look forward to seeing how this crisis will lead to innovation, and how we will be able to continue serving the community and carrying out our mission.a??
Virginia Stage Company To Offer Virtual Summer Camps

Due to social distancing protocols, Virginia Stage Company will be hosting a Virtual Summer Theatre Camp for students. Each camp will take place virtually through video communications site, Zoom. The Hangar Theatre Company opens its 46th summer season (and first ever virtual season), with a reading of The Skin of Our Teeth by Thornton Wilder on Saturday, May 23rd. The cast consists of over 20 artists who live in the Ithaca area, or who have appeared in a Hangar Mainstage production.

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM and More Announced For Classic Stage Company's 2020-21 Season

Classic Stage Company has announced its 2020-21 season. Bookending the season will be Doyle's new staging of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, in fall 2020, and the long-awaited New York premiere of Ten Cents a Dance, with music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Lorzenz Hart, in spring 2021. In between, CSC presents the third annual edition of its winter repertory series, this time pairing landmark 1970s prison dramas: the Tony Award-winning, Apartheid-era play The Island and Kiss of the Spider Woman, which inspired the Tony Award-winning musical and Academy Award-winning film of the same name.
