The Citadel Theatre will debut the Collider Festival, a new play development festival that celebrates and helps bring to life new stories and scripts for larger stages, showcasing a mix of local artists, artists from across the country, and beyond.

BroadwayWorld recently spoke with Giovanna Sardelli, TheatreWorks Artistic Associate and Director of New Works, from Las Vegas, where she was born and raised and has been spending most of the pandemic away from her actual home in New York. Sardelli has made a career out of championing new works and seeking out voices we may not have heard before, and her enthusiasm for her work is infectious. Any conversation with her is bound to convince you that you need to venture away from the tried and true and take a chance on a playwright you may be unfamiliar with. Not only will it expand your horizons, but you will also be moved and entertained.

The pandemic has not only had a deep impact on the entertainment industry from a financial perspective, it has also brought into stark relief the inequalities that have existed just below the surface - and as more regions move toward reopening, more questions continue within the industry of how companies should function when they do reopen.

The spreadsheet includes personal information such as name, pronouns, and location, as well as contact information and career experience. In the latter category, fields include degrees honors, specialties and interests, and years in the business.
