Premiere Stages at Kean University has announced its 15th anniversary season, featuring four new plays that explore the power and responsibility of legacy.

Maia Directors was created as a consulting service for organizations and artists engaging with stories and cultures from the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia (MENASA). The Tony Award winning Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) will launch its 84th year and Bill Rauch's final season as artistic director with preview performances beginning on March 1. The 2019 season officially kicks off Friday night, March 8, in the Angus Bowmer Theatre with Shakespeare's As You Like It (director, Rosa Joshi). On Saturday afternoon, Cambodian Rock Band (director, Chay Yew) opens in the Thomas Theatre, and Hairspray The Broadway Musical (director, Christopher Liam Moore) opens that evening in the Angus Bowmer Theatre. On Sunday afternoon, the drama by Southern Oregon based playwright Octavio Solis, Mother Road (director, Bill Rauch), will see its world premiere in the Angus Bowmer Theatre.

Pioneer Theatre Company continues the sixth season of Play-by-Play's New Play Reading Series with The Fifth Domain by playwright, Victor Lesniewski. The readings will take place at the Dumke Auditorium in the Utah Museum of Fine Arts Building on Friday, January 25 at 7:30PM and Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2:00PM and 7:30PM.

Portland Stage will stage the World Premiere of Refuge Malja by Bess Welden with Arabic Translation by Ali Al-Mshakheel begins Oct 30 through Nov 18, opens for reviewers Friday Nov 2, 2018. When a Jewish-American war photographer feels compelled to assist a young refugee who steps in front of her camera, she calls an old friend to translate but hesitates to reveal why she is so drawn to the boy. This poetic, decade-spanning drama explores how we each define and find our own malja (refuge). Affiliate Artist Bess Welden's Refuge Malja was developed as part of the 2017 Little Festival of the Unexpected and was subsequently workshopped in the Studio Series in January of 2018. Refuge Malja is made possible with support from the Maine Humanities Council and the Maine Arts Commission.

Geva Theatre Center unveils its line-up for the Festival of New Theatre 2018 to be held in the Fielding Stage from October 29 - December 2. Vassar & New York Stage and Film have announced the next wave of casting for the highly anticipated 34th Powerhouse Season in Poughkeepsie, NY, which starts this Friday, June 22 and runs through Sunday, July 29. Actors joining the annual summer play development incubator include Tony Award nominee Raul Esparza, Tony Award winner Alice Ripley, Tony Award nominee Denee Benton, Tony Award nominee Lauren Worsham, Tony Award nominee Alex Brightman, Noah Galvin, Frankie J. In honor of their upcoming touring production of Adam Kraar's Alternating Currents, Working Theater (Mark Plesent, Producing Artistic Director) will host community engagement events in each of the five boroughs. Community Dialogue events will focus on the dominant theme of the play; how communities deal with increasing diversity.
