Donned in aviation attire, nautical garb, and their vacation finest, some 175 guests took to the skies as they gathered at Hiller Aviation Museum to honor TheatreWorks Silicon Valley at its spring fundraiser A Muse Ball: Take a Journey with TheatreWorks, a high-flying celebration of art and inspiration.

Peninsula Players Theatre  has announced the cast for its second play reading of The Play's the Thing, a winter play reading series presented to Door County audiences.

Chicago’s Beverly Arts Center will present a new production of the perennial Chicago holiday favorite musical THE CHRISTMAS SCHOONER, for five performances only, from Thursday, December 8 through Sunday, December 11.

A brand-new studio cast recording of the beloved holiday musical, The Christmas Schooner, featuring Tony Award-winners Jessie Mueller (Beautiful – The Carole King Musical; Waitress) and James Monroe Iglehart (Aladdin; Hamilton), will be released in 2022.

"It's the kind of music that makes you feel regal," actress Felicia P. Fields says, describing the genius of Duke Ellington. "The word 'sophistication' isn't used as much today as it was back then. There was an elegance in the period." Fields, who is one of the stars of Maine State Music Theatre's new production of SOPHISTICATED LADIES, which runs at the Pickard Theater from June 5-22, 2019, believes that the production, directed by Marc Robin with three individual choreographers and an eleven piece orchestra perfectly captures the 1920s and 1930s and the big-band era.

The crew of a Great Lakes schooner risks everything to bring the Christmas spirit to German immigrants in Chicago homesick for their motherland during the late 19th century. Families and kids of all ages will be touched by this heartwarming musical that reveals the real meaning of Christmas. Includes songs such as 'We All Have Songs,' 'Pass it On,' 'What is it About the Water?' and 'Hardwater Sailor.'
