The Carroll Arts Center is traveling to Maryland Ensemble Theatre in downtown Frederick, Maryland for a fully staged production of Junie B. Jones The Musical. As MET celebrates their 20th anniversary of producing MainStage programming, they open the season by presenting a magnifying glass on society with a promise to make theatre even more accessible. "I'm so pleased to have joined an organization whose artistic leadership team is dedicated to collaboration and the promise of making theatre accessible for ALL" says Christine Mosere, MET's Managing Director. "In fact, in honor of our 20th anniversary, MET has lowered our ticket pricing to $20 for every MainStage production."

FREDERICK CLASSICAL ENSEMBLE AND MET-X present Reiner Prochaska's comedic adaptation of Chaucer's marriage tales. This hilarious script showcases the bawdy humor of "The Miller's Tale," "The Merchant's Tale," "The Nun's Priest's Tale," and "The Wife of Bath's Prologue." Prochaska infuses "The "Franklin's Tale" with a hefty dose of comedy as the characters navigate their way through a rocky coastline and an awkward love triangle.

Written by Lane Riosley, this crazy-fun play combines the story of Rapunzel with the commedia style of performance. Watch as Rapunzel lets down her hair, finds adventure, and discovers the balance between absurdity and hilarity! When Gottel the Witch discovers a thief in her garden, she tricks him into exchanging his first-born daughter for a salad. Inspired by the Italian tradition of Commedia dell'arte - improvised comedy plays with few sets and props - this spin on the classic fairytale is hilarious and great for the entire family! Filled with lots of lazzi and witty fun, this commedia tale is a pure delight!

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) presents a grown up's prequel to Peter Pan, where a dozen actors play more than 100 unforgettable characters. An apprentice starcatcher (13 year-old Molly Aster) takes to the high seas with a trunk full of magic 'starstuff' and three orphan boys while being pursued by a boat-load of pirates. Peter and the Starcatcher was written by Rick Elice (Jersey Boys, Addams Family) with music by Wayne Barker. This adaptation is based on the 2006 novel of the same name by humorist Dave Barry and suspense writer Ridley Pearson.
