Nick Adams, Paul Canaan, Jenn Colella, Blake Daniel, Jenn Gambatese, Tyler Hanes, Lauren Kennedy, Julia Murney, Matt Risch, and Kate Schindle are among the Broadway stars who will participate in the Broadway Dreams Foundation's (BDF) Holiday Benefit Concert on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 7 p.m. at the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theatre at the West Side Y. The star-studded evening of entertainment will benefit the non-profit organization which brings young talent closer to their Broadway dreams regardless of their financial status through intensive week-long Broadway training programs throughout the country.

This past weekend, Cincinnati had the chance to see two divas for the price of one as Broadway stars Julia Murney and Megan Hilty stepped in to replace Kristin Chenoweth, who was forced to cancel her engagement with the Cincinnati Pops on November 13th, 14th, and 15th, due to illness. Under the direction of Steven Reineke, the format was reworked into an evening in honor of divas from pop music, opera, and Broadway.

Contributing composers to this one-night-only benefit event include: Tony, Grammy, Emmy and Drama Desk Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated composers and lyricists Marc Shaiman and Scott Whittman (Hairspray, Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, Patti LuPone on Broadway), Tony, Grammy and Emmy-nominated and Academy Award-winning composer David Shire (Baby, Closer Than Ever, Big, Saturday Night Fever), Georgia Stitt (This Ordinary Thursday: The Songs Of Georgia Stitt with Sara Ramirez, Kelli O'Hara, Faith Prince, and many more), Ray Leslee (Avenue X, Educating Rita, Standup Shakespeare), Karl Mansfield (conductor and keyboardist for Broadway's Xanadu, La Boheme, 13, Dracula, Corum Boy, Sweet Charity, and Off-Broadway's Grey Gardens, Toxic Avenger, Shafrika the White Girl and Alter Boyz), and Wade McCollum (composer and lyricist for ONE, and award-winning performance in Hedwig and the Angry Inch).

Due to illness, celebrated actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth is not able to perform as scheduled for the November 13, 14 and 15 Cincinnati Pops Orchestra concerts at Music Hall. Megan Hilty and Julia Murney, who have performed the signature roles of Glinda and Elphaba respectively in the Broadway hit musical Wicked, have graciously agreed to step in and perform in a program dubbed "Wicked Divas" with Steven Reineke and the Pops.
