Jim Caruso's Cast Party presents composer Scott Alan at Birdland on Monday, December 7 at 7pm. This event will be part of the ongoing Broadway at Birdland concert series, celebrating performers and creators from The Great White Way.

Singing Scott's songs and praises will be (at press time) Allie Trimm (Bye Bye Birdie), Shayna Steele (Hairspray), Natalie Weiss (Wicked), LaurenKennedy (Vanities), Carly Jibson (Cry-Baby), Julie Reiber (Wicked), and Nikki Renee Daniels (Les Miserables ), among many others.

Scott Alan wrote the book, music and lyrics for the musical Detour in Los Angeles. Since returning to New York City seven years ago, many of Broadway's elite have sung his music, including Liz Callaway, Shoshana Bean, Adriane Lenox, Sutton Foster, Stephanie J. Block, Julia Murney, Cheyenne Jackson, Megan Hilty, Norm Lewis, Eden Espinosa and more, all of which can be found on his debut CD, Dreaming Wide Awake, and his follow up CD, Keys, which are both available on his website and iTunes. He has sold out concert venues in New York City (Birdland, The Duplex Cabaret Theatre and The Laurie Beechman Theatre), London (West End's The Duchess Theatre), Los Angeles (Upright Cabaret on Vermont) and San Francisco (The Rrazz Room). His current Theatre Projects include Piece , which was featured at the 2003 Palo Alto TheatreWorks festival, 2005 NAMT Festival and 2006 Seattle Theatre Festival and The Warmth of the Womb, a new song cycle.
