After an incredible tenure, The Bunker is closing its doors. Due to proposed redevelopment of the site, The Bunker will present its final show at 53a Southwark Street on Saturday 28th March 2020, three and a half years after the theatre opened in October 2016.

The Bunker has announced Chris Sonnex as its new Artistic Director. Sonnex, who takes up the post with immediate effect, replaces founding Artistic Director Joshua McTaggart. He is a London-born theatre director who previously served as the Community Producer and Artistic Associate at the Royal Court.

Joshua McTaggart will step down as Artistic Director of The Bunker Theatre in September. David Ralf will continue to lead the London off West End theatre in his new role as Executive Director alongside a new Artistic Director, who will be appointed this summer. Applications for the role of Artistic Director are open today (Wednesday 11th July).

Slyly exhuming the little blue dress that launched the biggest media circus of a generation, the five women who were at the centre of this infamous scandal collide on stage: A First Lady, a secretary, a daughter, a confidant, and an intern. A theatrical battle emerges over how it all went down, who were the heroes and villains, and why, twenty years later, we're only beginning to grapple with one of the most challenging questions in American political history: How do we respond to women seeking power, and the men who abuse that power?

The Bunker's Summer 2018 season celebrates exciting work from both emerging and established companies. A highlight of this season is Breaking Out - a new initiative introduced by Artistic Director Joshua McTaggart - which champions the most ambitious and innovative theatre companies who are embarking on their theatrical journey.

The Bunker Theatre are delighted to announce two exciting inaugural resident theatre companies and a brand-new initiative which will give six emerging theatre companies the opportunity to showcase world-premiere work this summer.

The Bunker's Spring 2018 season sees the venue truly celebrate its place as a playground for ambitious artists and adventurous audiences, just over a year after it first opened its doors. The bold season, including works by Terry Johnson and Izzy Tennyson, highlights the venue's commitment to work with exciting playwrights, both established and emerging.

For me, theatre has always been about one important thing: storytelling. Storytelling, and listening to stories told, is an integral part of our life. In telling a story we break down the barriers that exist between us, as we try and find a way to connect, to communicate, and to understand one another.

Bunker Without Borders is a week-long festival at The Bunker exploring the question 'what might a world without borders look like, sound like, feel like, be like?'. The festival seeks to share stories in search of a united way forward in the current global climate.

???????The award-winning theatre company Cardboard Citizens has today announced an ambitious season of new work at The Bunker in London this April. Celebrating 25 years of making work with and for homeless people, the company will continue its exploration of the state of housing in nine new plays commissioned by Cardboard Citizens from some of the UK's most exciting playwrights

The world premiere of Abigail by Papatango award-winning playwright Fiona Doyle will close The Bunker's highly-acclaimed inaugural season. Abigail will be directed by The Bunker's Artistic Director, Joshua McTaggart. Originally written in 2013 when it was long-listed for the Bruntwood Prize, The Bunker's production stars Tia Bannon (The Winter's Tale and Pericles, The Globe) and Mark Rose (King Lear, The Old Vic; Hangmen, Royal Court). Performances run now through Saturday 4th February 2017. Press night is tonight 12th January 2017, and BroadwayWorld has a first look at the duo in action below!

A brand new theatre, named The Bunker, is opening in a former underground car park in Southwark Street and is set to be the capital's newest contemporary Off-West End venue.  Behind this exciting venture are emerging creatives Joel Fisher and Joshua McTaggart.

VAULT Festival today announces a programme of exciting events alongside its return to the Leake Street tunnels. The six-week cultural festival in the labyrinthine tunnel network in Waterloo, opens on 28th January 2015 for six frenetic weeks.
