Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota opens its 2021-22 Soiree Series with 'Double Reeds Unite,' a celebration of the unique sounds and versatility of the oboe and bassoon, featuring oboist Jonathan Gentry, bassoonist Fernando Traba, both principal musicians with the Sarasota Orchestra, and pianist Joseph Holt.

Choral Artists of Sarasota’s 43rd season, entitled “Carried Away!” features six concerts in November, December, February, March, April, and July. “Carried Away!” is designed to transport audiences through the powerful medium of choral music, created in response to the return of live and in-person musical experiences in Sarasota.

Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota is pleased to announce Daniel Jordan as the organization's new Director of Artist Programs. Jordan will begin his role on July 1, working remotely from Santa Fe, New Mexico where he spends his summers as principal second violin of the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra.

Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota is celebrating its 26th season with a return to a full concert schedule featuring a variety of exceptional musical experiences from emerging and established classical, jazz and pops artists.

For the past 16 years, Choral Artists of Sarasota has honored Independence Day with a concert of rousing songs celebrating the United States. The choral group continues that tradition this July 4, 2:30 p.m., at the Sarasota Opera House, 61 N Pineapple Avenue, Sarasota.

After six seasons as the director of artist programs of Artist Series Concerts, Dr. Joseph Holt has announced that he will be resigning his position, effective on June 30.

The evening of entertainment included a welcome video from Tamara Tunie and Black Theatre United; a tribute featuring past Hermitage Greenfield Prize recipients, jurors, and partners; performances of Harris' work; and a stirring musical closing by Ann Morrison and Joseph Holt.

Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota concludes its Winter-Spring 2021 Outdoor season with a performance by local singing sensation Maria Wirries, Wednesday, April 21, outdoors at Plantation Golf & Country Club, 500 Rockley Blvd., Venice.

Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota spices things up with the Heat Latin Jazz Band, Sunday, April 18, 3:00 p.m., outdoors at Nathan Benderson Park, 5851 Nathan Benderson Circle, Sarasota. Heat's seven young artists, most of them also students at Florida Gulf Coast University and Florida Southwestern State College, perform toe-tapping salsa hits from yesterday and today, showcasing the works of Oscar D'Leon, Celia Cruz, Joe Arroyo, Puerto Rican Power, Gloria Estefan and many more.

Bill Buchman and his quintet take a musical tour of the exotic melodies and rhythms of the diverse musical cultures that  inspire modern-day jazz.

Percussionist Rick Costa has assembled some of the area’s best jazz musicians, including vocalist Walt Andrus, saxophonist Lew Del Gatto, trumpeter Dan Miller, bassist Don Mopsick and pianist Roy Gerson, for an afternoon of the best of Glenn Miller and the swinging sounds of the 40s.
