Kelsey Waldon Releases Second Single from WHITE NOISE/WHITE LINES
by Tori Hartshorn - Aug 9, 2019

Kelsey Waldon is no stranger to calling it as she sees it. Over the years, her songs have been honest observations of real-life, in the trenches issues; small-town woes, prescription drug addiction, and all manners of heartbreak have been on Waldon's chopping block.  Yesterday, Nylon premiered what may be Waldon's most matter-of-fact, hitting close to home composition to date, “Sunday's Children.” 'Essentially, that tune was inspired by how I felt about people using religion and God in the name of hate,' Waldon told Nylon. 'I grew up in the Southern Baptist church, and I was really discouraged to hear so many people instill fear in the hearts of people, that just because somebody isn't like them, they would be afraid of this person.' “Sunday's Children” comes as the second single fromWhite Noise/White Lines following the previously released “Anyhow,” whichGarden & Gun called a “fitting first taste of an album that should firmly establish Waldon as one of classic country's rising torchbearers.” White Noise/White Lines will be released October 4th on John Prine's Oh Boy Records.

Canadian alt-country pioneers Cowboy Junkies will return to Australia and New Zealand for the first time in 20 years in May 2020. Anyone who has followed Cowboy Junkies' three decade-long journey knows the band has always remained true to its unique artistic vision.  In 1988, they proved that there was an audience waiting for something quiet, beautiful and reflective. The Trinity Session was like a whisper that cut through the noise with its introspective, quiet intensity. Their new album, All That Reckoning, once again gently shakes the listener to wake up. It may be the most powerful album Cowboy Junkies have yet recorded.

Set for release onOctober 11th, smack in the middle of a month-long run opening for Chris Stapleton, Solid Gold Sounds finds Marvel rekindling his love for artistry and good, old fashioned country music. C0-produced by Grammy winners Dan Auerbach(The Black Keys) and Dave “Fergie” Ferguson (John Prine, Mac Wiseman, Del McCoury, and more), the new full-length album was, as it usually is for Marvel, an easy-going, collaborative effort. He was written songs with and for Gary Allan, Brothers Osborne, Jamey Johnson, Jake Owen, Lee Ann Womack, George Strait, and Chris Stapleton (including Stapleton's Grammy-winning song “Either Way”) to name a few. “He's not craving the stage or craving the spotlight,” says Auerbach, who co-wrote nine of the ten songs on Solid Gold Sounds. “This record comes from a humble place, which I really love.” Today, Rolling Stone premiered the album's first single “Hard Time with the Truth,” co-written by Marvel, Auerbach, and John Anderson, noting the song and its accompanying video as “a sound that's at once retro and totally contemporary.” Pre-order Solid Gold Sounds here.

Darrin Bradbury Announces New Album Out This September
by Tori Hartshorn - Jul 24, 2019

Like a more self-deprecating, decidedly morose John Prine, or perhaps a more jovial Guy Clark, New Jersey native Darrin Bradbury's songs are riddled with hilarious, obvious-once-you-hear-them observations on mundane everyday life. The eleven songs on Talking Dogs & Atom Bombs, Bradbury's new release on ANTI- Records, leave listeners singing along with sometimes ridiculous, often dark, but instantly familiar tunes.
