On this day in 2012, Newsies seized the day on opening night at the Nederlander Theater!

The Drinkwater Brothers come to The Green Room 42, 570 Tenth Avenue at 42ndStreet (in Yotel Hotel) NYC on Saturday, March 16that 7:00 pm. They will be presenting a night of musical favorites. With an evening of song that will encompass Broadway, Pop, Rock, Blues, Folk, and everything in-between. This young duo is sure to rock your socks off. Tony Award nominee John Dossett, along with the Broadway veteran Theresa McCarthy, and NYC cabaret/theater artist Amy Beth Williams will be joining the Drinkwaters as special guest performers, in what is sure to be a night to remember. Today, the producers of The Heart of Rock and Roll, the electrifying new musical inspired by the music of Huey Lewis and The News, announced that they are moving forward with their four-week work session on Monday, February 25, as scheduled. The work session will culminate in three invitation-only presentations taking place on Thursday, March 21 and Friday, March 22. The work session is the first to move forward under the newly negotiated AEA agreement.

The Old Globe today announced casting as its 2018-2019 Season kicks off with the world premiere of The Heart of Rock & Roll, inspired by the music of Huey Lewis and the News.

Though the songwriting team of Robert Wright and George Forrest is best remembered by Broadway enthusiasts for adapting the music of Edvard Grieg into SONG OF NORWAY and similarly using the melodies of Alexander Borodin to create their score for KISMET, their greatest success came when director/choreographer Tommy Tune took interest in a musical of theirs that fizzled into obscurity on its way to Broadway, then known as AT THE GRAND.

Music Director Rob Berman. Grand Hotel, The Musical will run for seven performances at New York City Center from March 21 - 25. The Encores! at 25 season concludes with Me and My Girl (May 9 - 13). When Encores! decided to begin a search for the show's biggest fan from the original run- a woman who appeared in a commercial for the show in 1992- the internet came to the rescue.
