For the upcoming festive season, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) brings two stylish programmes to audience in Hong Kong. In anticipation of Christmas celebrations, composer/jazz pianist HIROMI joins hands with fellow Japanese conductor Ryusuke Numajiri to share her music in two nights of jazz at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall on 23 & 24 December. And to bid farewell to the year 2019, British conductor Christopher Warren-Green teams up with Canadian/American coloratura soprano Sharleen Joynt to bring our audience a Viennese New Year in Hong Kong. Two performances will take place at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall: one each on 30 & 31 December.
Lord Mayor's Tea Dance To Take Place at City Hall, Cork in January

A January 'Gathering' of young and old, from communities all over Cork and beyond who love to dance, will take to the floor in City Hall, to the 'Savoy Hotel' style music of Evelyn Grant (RTE lyric fm) and the Cork Pops Orchestra. The Lord Mayor's Tea Dance, hosted by Cllr. John Sheehan, Lord Mayor of Cork, is a not-for-profit initiative organised by a local committee of people from the public, private and voluntary sectors. The committee is chaired by Dr. Andrew Crosbie.

Princeton Symphony Orchestra to Present the New Jersey Tap Dance Ensemble and Princeton High School Choir

On Saturday, December 14, at 3pm and 6pm, the Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) Holiday POPS! concert celebrates the season with returns of the New Jersey Tap Dance Ensemble and the Princeton High School Choir. The festive program features March of the Toys by Victor Herbert, 'White Christmas' by Irving Berlin, 'Waltz of the Flowers' from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, a polka by Johann Strauss Jr., Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride, and more. Of course, everyone is invited to join in the annual carol sing-along! Conductor Nell Flanders leads both performances, which take place at Richardson Auditorium on the campus of Princeton University.

This morning, The Recording Academy announced that Manfred Honeck and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's recording of Bruckner's Symphony No. 9 were nominated for three Grammy Awards. This marks the third consecutive year the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Honeck have been nominated.
