Porchlight Music Theatre is proud to announce that its final production in the 2018 - 2019 "lost" musicals in staged concert series Porchlight Revisits Minnie's Boys will now include a special event with Minnie's Boys composer Larry Grossman, "A Conversation with Larry Grossman," Thursday, May 23 at 4:45 p.m. and feature a new song added to this Chicago premiere.

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts announces that Joel Grey will receive the first Joel Grey Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's 28th Annual Summer Gala to be held at the new location of Wolffer Estate Vineyard on Saturday, July 6.

The Outer Critics Circle Award winners have been announced! The big winner this year is Hadestown, taking home 6 awards, including Outstanding New Broadway Musical, Outstanding New Score, and Amber Gray for Outstanding Featured Actress!

Cabaret is one of the most successful, popular and influential musicals ever written. You can call it's Kander and Ebb's masterpiece or a defining triumph for Hal Prince or Bob Fosse and in any case, you'll be right on the money. So it's no wonder I have so many damn recordings of the score. The good news is they are all available for streaming on various platforms and so I can throw out all these CDs without having to do any uploading.

The 2019 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out last night to recipients in 19 categories, with one special award and three honorary awards also bestowed. The Lortel Awards were distributed in a ceremony at NYU Skirball Center hosted by Drama Desk Award-nominated writer and performer of The New One, Mike Birbiglia. The Lucille Lortel Awards are produced by the Off-Broadway League by special arrangement with the Lucille Lortel Theatre Foundation. Additional support is provided by TDF.

The Off-Broadway League today announced nominations in 19 categories - and bestowed one special award - for the 34th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. The Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at NYU Skirball Center for Performing Arts, beginning at 7:00pm EST. Each Porchlight Revisits production begins with the 'Behind the Show Backstory' multimedia presentation, created and hosted by Artistic Director Michael Weber, discussing that evening's production including the show's creative history, juicy backstage gossip and much more. Playhouse on the Square, in partnership with CrimeStoppers, Gene and Carol Katz, Dorothy O. Kirsch, Friends of Facing History and Ourselves, Art and Nancy Graesser, and super sponsor Dr. Thomas Ratliff bring The Kit Kat Klub back to Memphis in a revival of the world famous musical.

Award-winning actress, singer, and director Avery Sommers will add teacher to her already impressive resume this summer; the powerhouse performer will conduct two eight-week master classes at Actor's Rep in West Palm Beach.

Ancram Opera House (AOH), the award-winning theatre in southern Columbia County, announced its 2019 summer season which opens June 28 with the world premiere of Staged Dives: An Evening with Stew & Heidi by Stew and Heidi Rodewald, creators of the Tony, Drama Desk and Obie award-winning musical Passing Strange. The Drama League (Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Artistic Director) today announced the 2019 Drama League Awards Nominees for Outstanding Production of a Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award. The nominations were announced this morning by the current stars of Waitress, Shoshana Bean and Jeremy Jordan, at the official announcement event at Sardi's Restaurant, which was streamed live online here at BroadwayWorld.

A native New Yorker, Rifkin, has garnered acclaim for his work on and off Broadway including a 1998 Tony Award for his performance as Herr Schultz in the musical revival of Cabaret. His numerous movie credits include JFK, The Substance of Fire, and most recently the 2018 hit remake of A Star is Born. On TV, he is best known for his recurring role as Arvin Sloane opposite Jennifer Garner on the ABC series Alias, and as Saul Holden on the series Brothers and Sisters.
