National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene's Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish ended its run at the Museum of Jewish Heritage yesterday, December 30. To conclude the run, Joel Grey, who directed the acclaimed production, took an evocative New Year's Eve shot of the cast standing with the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island in the distance.

On the heels of its spectacular, sold-out run of the Yiddish language presentation of Fiddler on The Roof, National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) has announced the upcoming Winter-Spring 2019 season, which will include the civil-rights era inspired concert Soul to Soul, restored gems from the golden age of the Yiddish theater in From the Yiddish Rialto to the Silver Screen and the world premiere of the jazz opera Dear Erich, being presented with the New York City Opera.

The ASCAP Foundation honored R&B and pop icon Valerie Simpson with its George M. Cohan Friars Foundation Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Melinda Wagner with The ASCAP Foundation Masters Award at the 2018 ASCAP Foundation Honors tonight. The ceremony took place at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall, Broadway at 60th Street, in New York City. The ASCAP Foundation 2018 scholarship recipients were also recognized in an evening brimming with talent and inspiration.

Legendary Downtown trendsetter Raven O, the oh-so-colorful avatar of the downtown performance art scene, raises our throbbing spirits on New Year's Eve in a shape-shifting, champagne-soaked cabaret celebration at Pangea! With the help of the acclaimed bassist Ben Allison, Raven O stirs up his witch's brew of sultry song and restless commentary, not once but twice, in back-to-back shows at 8pm and 10:30pm. Both shows are generously priced: $125 for the early show and $165 for the late show. In both cases, tickets include a delicious 3-course dinner, and a half-bottle of Cava per person. A separate a la carte menu will be served in the front dining room, independent of the performance, from 5:00 pm until midnight. Join us in either room for our Midnight Countdown! Pangea's front room bar will be open until at least 2:00 am.
