Single tickets for the Guthrie Theater's 2009-10 season go on sale Sunday, July 19 at 11 a.m. The season includes 21 plays that are a blend of classics, fresh takes on timeless themes and exciting presentations - including renewed and continuing partnerships and the return of the Guthrie's prestigious WorldStage program.

The Guthrie announced today that three generations of Guthrie actors will comprise the cast of its summer production of J.B. Priestley's rollicking comedy When We Are Married. Under the direction of Guthrie associate artistic director John Miller-Stephany (1776, Jane Eyre, The Constant Wife), the show will reunite many beloved Guthrie company members from the 1960s and 70s, including Barbara Bryne, Helen Carey, Patricia Conolly, Peter Michael Goetz and Linda Kelsey.

The Guthrie announced today that its 35th annual production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol will receive a new adaptation by Barbara Field, with Gary Gisselman directing the Twin Cities holiday classic for the ninth consecutive season and legendary stage and screen actor Peter Michael Goetz returning to play Ebenezer Scrooge.

The Guthrie is pleased to present My Father's Bookshelf, the new original production by up-and-coming Twin Cities theater makers Live Action Set. San Francisco's cutting-edge Cutting Ball Theater closes its 2008-09 season with one of Samuel Beckett's funniest and most personal works for the stage, KRAPP'S LAST TAPE. On April 18th, 2009, nearly 1,000 attendees took part on the Guthrie Theater's Kick Off to Kushner, a community wide event, which featured 70 singers from the Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus premiering 'I Want More Life,' a new choral commission with text from Kushner's Angels in America and music by Michael Shaieb.

The entertainment trade paper reports 'among the three full productions of plays by Kushner -- the 'Angels in America' scribe whose work is not exactly known for its modesty of scope or running time -- is the world preem of his latest, 'The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide to Capitalism and Socialism With a Key to the Scriptures,' which began perfs May 15th. Also on the roster is an evening of short works, 'Tiny Kushner,' which began May 16th.'
