National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces its 80th Rolling World Premiere (RWP): Red Bike by Caridad Svich. The Roll includes Member Theaters PYGmalion Productions (April 20-May 5 in Salt Lake City), Simpatico Theatre (June 6-24 in Philadelphia), Know Theatre of Cincinnati (January 11-February 2, 2019), and The Wilbury Theatre Group (April 11-21, 2019 in Providence). Red Bike was presented at NNPN's 2017 National Showcase of New Plays, hosted by Orlando Shakespeare Theatre.
Rain and Zoe Save the World by New York-based playwright Crystal Skillman has been named the winning script by a national panel of judges for the 2018 Earth Matters on Stage (EMOS) New Play Competition.

In what is both as surreal as the imagination running rampant beneath a star-infested sky and as visceral as the cold truth (and consequences) of human emotions, Wildfires depicts the reasoning behind a distraught woman's actions in an incredibly graspable manner.
The Irvington Town Hall Theater (ITHT) is excited to announce the inaugural year of its ITHT Stage Door Playwright Festival on November 11 and 12. A weekend of readings of original and diverse one-act plays by a varied line-up of outstanding writers, the festival will be broken up into four sessions (two on Saturday and two on Sunday), with each session featuring different playwrights. This festival will be a springboard for playwrights to get their work up on its feet, and a chance for ITHT audiences to participate in the process by talking with the writers and other industry professionals during a Q&A at the end of each session.
