The sixth annual SUNSET STRIP MUSIC FESTIVAL (SSMF) came to a close on Saturday (August 3) with performances on the closed-off Sunset Strip for more than 15,000 fans by headliners LINKIN PARK as well as AWOLNATION, BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB, FINCH and STREET DRUM CORPS. Artists that rocked the East Stage included WALE, LOGIC, SLICK RICK & DOUG E. FRESH, ASHER ROTH and ZEALE. More than 30 additional artists performed throughout the day on the new Viper Room outdoor stage, as well as indoors at The Roxy and Whisky A Go-Go into the early morning hours. Festival highlights included surprise guests Chris Brown and rapper YG sitting in with WALE, Wayne Brady joiningDOUG E. FRESH's set for a freestyle session and drummer Adrian Young from No Doubt playing with STREET DRUM CORPS.

The great Augie Meyers, the Texas Tornado himself, calls them up to go in the studio with him, and Little Steven, Dave Marsh, and Ben Fong-Torres think they're the coolest thing since an iced bottle of Lone Star. The band will take the East Coast by storm in early August, with concerts in Richmond VA, Washington DC, New York, and Asbury Park NJ. They will play at Brooklyn's Bell House on August 7.

NBC selected six-time Grammy Award-winner and multi-platinum recording artist, Carrie Underwood, to perform “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night,” the opening theme for primetime television's No. 1 program, Sunday Night Football on NBC. Country music superstar Underwood, the season-four winner of American Idol, makes her Sunday Night Football debut on Sunday, September 8 on NBC's first SNF broadcast of the 2013 NFL season, a heated NFC East rivalry game when Dallas Cowboys host the New York Giants. The opening theme will continue each week kicking off Sunday Night Football every Sunday night throughout the NFL season on NBC.
