Black Box Performing Arts Center's New Production of Eric Bogosian's 1+1 will headline The Chain Play Festival this July, as a special NYC Premiere!

The stage directors receiving the fellowships, assistantships and residencies of the 2022 Drama League Directors Project: NJ Agwuna, Jean Carlo Yunén Aróstegui, Jennifer Chang, Andrew Coopman, Justin Emeka, Nadia Guevara, Emily Hartford, Susanna Jaramillo, Ibi Owolabi, Logan Gabrielle Schulman, Noam Shapiro, Jessica Natalie Smith, and Kendra Ware.

Manhattan Theatre Club has announced a new Broadway production, Cost of Living, for its upcoming 2022-2023 season at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street), as well as three off-Broadway productions for MTC at New York City Center – Stage I and The Studio at Stage II (131 West 55th Street).

The Global Theater Initiative (GTI), a partnership between Theatre Communications Group (TCG) and The Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics (The Lab) at Georgetown University, invites all theatres, individual artists, institutions, and audiences to celebrate the 61st annual World Theatre Day on March 27, 2022.

Manhattan Theatre Club announced the lineup for the 2022 Ted Snowdon Reading Series. The readings kick off Monday, March 14 and will be held on Mondays through March 28. The readings will take place at New York City Center – Stage I (131 West 55th Street). All readings are free and open to the public, but space is limited and RSVPs are required.

Black Box PAC, Bergen County's incubator for new and underproduced works by acclaimed writers, will begin 2022 with an encore of it's regional premiere workshop production of 1+1 by Eric Bogosian from January 6 - 23.

The Sitayana is an artful transposition of the Hindu epic The Ramayana told from Sita's point of view. Part epic tale, part coming of age story, The Sitayana is the ultimate breakup play. 

East West Players in partnership with San Francisco's EnActe Arts and New York City's Hypokrit Productions will present the virtual world premiere of The Sitayana (Or “How to Make an Exit”), by Lavina Jadhwani.

Baryshnikov Arts Center will present the first installment of its 2021 digital spring season beginning on Monday, February 1 at 5pm ET. Stage Directors and Choreographers Society announces the digital publication of the Fall 2020 issue of its magazine, SDC Journal. The special issue, running 80 pages, is focused on the devastating impact of COVID-19 on theatre and theatre artists, and the long-overdue racial reckoning and call for equity in all facets of society, including the theatre.
