One thing we know for sure: the BroadwayWorld audience remains dedicated to seeing multiple shows per year, even if they’re making that final decision and purchasing a ticket much closer to the date of the show than in the past.

Theatre Ariel will begin its 32nd season this fall under new leadership. In July, Founding Artistic Director, Deborah Baer Mozes,, will transition out of her role and actor, writer, director and producer, Jesse Bernstein, will become the company's new Artistic Director.

The Alliance for Jewish Theatre (AJT), the only international organization promoting Jewish theatre worldwide, has hired Oregon-based theatre director, arts administrator, teacher, and arts advocate Willow Jade Norton as its new Executive Director.

The Alliance for Jewish Theatre hosted the largest Jewish theatre arts conference in the country on November 3 - 5, 2019. Nearly 100 artists from North America and Israel converged in Chicago at AJT's annual conference which was hosted by ShPIel. Artistic Directors, Playwrights, Directors, Actors, and others were inspired to share ideas and discuss initiatives, as a vision for the future of Jewish theatre came into focus.

Kids of all ages can explore the underwater kingdom of Atlantis during the WST for Kids' production of Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, JR. Based on and adapted from the Academy Award-winning 1989 Disney movie and Broadway production, this hour-long musical will appear on the Walnut Mainstage beginning September 21 and now extended through October 6, 2019.

11th Hour Theatre Company is welcoming audiences into the development process of its next musical comission. The company is presenting a concert performance of the commissioned brand-new Civil War musical, Something Like A War with Music and Lyrics by Jake Blouch and a Book by Jesse Bernstein. The concert is directed by Jerrell L. Henderson and Dan Kazemi is the Music Director. The concert will be May 17-19 at The Louis Bluver Theatre at the Drake, 341 South Hicks Street. Kids of all ages will be enchanted by the WST for Kids' production of Disney's ALADDIN, JR.. Based on the classic 1992 Disney movie, and updated to include Alan Menken's new songs written for the 2014 Broadway production, this hour-long musical will be performed LIVE at Walnut Street Theatre September 22 - 30, 2018.

Kids and their adult friends and families will love the WST for Kids' production of HONK! JR.. Based on Hans Christian Anderson's classic fairytale, The Ugly Duckling, this hour-long musical will be performed LIVE at Walnut Street Theatre September 23 through October 8, 2017.

Walnut Street Theatre continues its landmark 208th season with Neil Simon's classic comedy, LAUGHTER ON THE 23RD FLOOR. Directed by Frank Ferrante, the play begins previews on January 17th, opens on January 25th and runs through March 5th on the Walnut's Mainstage. This production is part of a double feature of Simon's work at the Walnut, as Last of the Red Hot Lovers will begin performances the in the Independence Studio on 3 on January 10th.
