Woodcraft Rangers -- one of Los Angeles's largest, longest-running, and most inclusive youth enrichment programs -- has teamed up with comedian Jerry Garcia, Grammy and Latin Grammy award-winning children's musician Lucky Diaz and director and designer Drina Durazo to co-produce La Piñata, a groundbreaking Spanish bilingual family musical comedy to premiere on Saturday, May 27, at Art Share LA.

San Francisco Shakespeare Festival has announced that its 41st season of Free Shakespeare in the Park will present Cymbeline. Believed to be one of Shakespeare's final plays, Cymbeline is widely considered one of his greatest achievements, depicting powerful emotions in a fairy tale setting that concludes with inventive scenes of revelation and joyful reconciliation.

Featuring the Dead’s Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann, Mickey Hart, and with Bruce Hornsby and Vince Welnick on keys, the Soldier Field show was filled with fan favorites, including “Shakedown Street,” “Brown-Eyed Women,” “Playing In The Band,” “Terrapin Station,” “Dark Star,” and more. Watch the video trailer now!

San Francisco Shakespeare Festival has announced that its summer 2023 Free Shakespeare in the Park production will be Shakespeare's Cymbeline.

Having just celebrated their 40th anniversary season in 2022, the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival looks forward to 2023 with a robust lineup of community programs and special events throughout the Bay Area.

The full length concert is exclusively performed by  Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles, who recently completed an eight-week engagement  of the fantasy musical, “Into The Woods” on Broadway. Sara’s self-described “piano based pop soul” and powerful lyrics give voice to the difficult journey from victim to survivor.

San Francisco Shakespeare Festival's 40th Anniversary season production of Free Shakespeare in the Park will perform in McLaren Park’s Jerry Garcia Amphitheater. Performances of Shakespeare’s popular romantic comedy, Much Ado About Nothing, will take place September 3-11 on Saturdays, Sundays, and Labor Day Monday at 2:00 pm.

San Francisco Shakespeare Festival's 40th Anniversary season production of Shakespeare's popular romantic comedy, Much Ado About Nothing, returns to Redwood City at a new location this summer. Performances will take place at Red Morton Community Park, Valota Rd & Vera Ave (near Picnic Area #2), August 13-28 on Saturdays and Sundays at 4:00 pm. 

Recorded on a 16-track machine by noted Dead engineers Betty Cantor, Janet Furman, Bob Matthews, Rosie (McGee), and Wizard (the team which also recorded the Dead’s classic Europe ’72 performances), these tapes were mixed by current Grateful Dead engineer Jeffrey Norman and mastered by Grammy®-winner David Glasser.

Released on CD and digital earlier this year, the record consists of performances newly mixed by Emmy-nominated producer/engineer Brian Risner from the original multi-track tapes recorded by Dan Healy (Grateful Dead) in 1992 at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. Woodbury has released eleven albums, including the current 4-volume Anthems & Antithets. He creates music videos for his songs, most recently “Gimme Some of That Old Time Prog,” a spot-on sendup of prog rock. His songs have been sung by Nathan Lane, Lisa Loeb, Terre Roche & David Yazbek. 

Joplin eventually would record the song in Los Angeles a few days before her October 1970 death. Released as a single a few months later, it went on to become her signature song and only number one hit. After her death, her J-45 was given to close friend and collaborator Bob Neuwirth, who taught her Bobby McGee and co-wrote with her Mercedes Benz.

Zero Announce Naught Again Live Album Featuring Unissued 1992 Performances at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall. The lead single, “End Of The World Blues,” is available now. The Double-CD/Digital will be out on May 20, and the double-vinyl is out on October 14 via Omnivore Recordings. The album will be newly mixed by Emmy®-nominated Engineer Brian Risner.
