The Audio Publishers Association (APA) have announced finalists for the 2022 Audie Awards. Finalists include Cynthia Erivo for Best Female Narrator and Lin-Manuel Miranda for Best Male Narrator. The Joe Hill Revival which had it's original performance at the Rustik Tavern in Brooklyn in September 2021, will be performed in concert at the Triad theatre 158 W 72nd St, New York, NY 10023.

 'The Joe Hill Revival,' is a new musical that brings back to life the story of labor activist and songwriter Joe Hill, framed up and executed by the state of Utah in 1915. This will be an encore one-night-only performance at the Triad Theater in Manhattan on Sunday, February 6, 2-4pm.

Brooklyn Tavern Theater, led by composer/lyricist/writer Dan Furman, is presenting 'Impossible but True,' a 'tavern musical' inspired by Washington Irving's Rip Van Winkle story, through October 29 at Franklin 820 in Crown Heights, Brooklyn and in Manhattan at Uncle Charlie's, 139 East 45th Street. Queens-based Rude Grooms opens its second annual free Commons Series in Astoria Park tonight with a production of Romeo and Juliet, featuring Rachel Schmeling (Juliet) and Dhruv Iyengar (Romeo) as the titular lovers. This year the production will once again tour parks and art spaces in western Queens.

Since the dawn of the genre, stage shows have been adapted from various sources; books, other plays, poems, historical events, and, increasingly over the past two decades, movies. The best projects based on movies take what is special from the source material and use that as inspiration to form a fresh stage adaptation. However, the DIRTY DANCING National Tour, playing at Orlando's Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts through Sunday, April 3rd, focuses so intently on recreating the minutia of the film, that it completely misses what made it so captivating in the first place; authentic, compelling characters and an intimate, passionate story.

 Casting has been announced for DIRTY DANCING - THE CLASSIC STORY ON STAGE, coming to The Broward Center for the Performing Arts for a limited two week engagement.  Christopher Tierney and Rachel Boone will star as Johnny Castle and Frances "Baby" Houseman in the Fort Lauderdale premiere of Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage.
