Tom Kitt to Celebrate Release of New Album With TODAYTIX AT TAVERN Concert

Legendary composer/arranger Tom Kitt (Next to Normal, Jagged Little Pill) has teamed up with TodayTix at Tavern to celebrate the release of his debut studio album, Reflect. The 2-time Tony Award winner will sit down at the piano while special guests perform songs from the album, along with iconic numbers from some of Tom’s most well-known musicals.

On March 13 and 20, 2021 New York's New Federal Theatre (NFT) will present 'New Federal Theatre Celebrates Women's History Month,' a retrospective readings series in which significant plays from the '80s on generational issues in Black women's lives will be recreated by noted actors and directors.  The readings will be free and accessible from NFT's website, https://www.newfederaltheatre.com. Donations will be gratefully accepted.

This afternoon, a capacity crowd of 18,000 New York City public school students made history, along side the Broadway cast of To Kill a Mockingbird. Aaron Sorkin's new play, directed by Bartlett Sher, and based on Harper Lee's classic novel, became the first-ever Broadway play to perform at The World's Most Famous Arena, New York's Madison Square Garden.  With the extraordinary support of James L. Dolan, executive chairman and CEO of The Madison Square Garden Company, this unprecedented, single-performance event was entirely free to students of New York City Department of Education public middle and high schools from all five boroughs.

When Tamron asked whether they knew they were making history, Celia Rose, who is making her Broadway debut in a?oeJagged Little Pill,a?? explained that they knew of other parent-child duos who have performed on Broadway, but didn't realize they were the first to perform at the same time. She also noted how monumental it was that a black mother-daughter duo hit this milestone and took pride in the progress that the theater community has made in terms of inclusion and diversity.
