On Monday, October 16, Sing for Hope held its 11th annual Sing for Hope Gala, uniting New York's philanthropic and cultural leaders for a magical evening in support of the organization's programs and commitment to bring the arts to under-resourced areas at Tribeca Rooftop in downtown Manhattan. Hope Mohr Dance has announced a one-night-only engagement of Becca Blackwell, Monday, September 18 at Z Below. Part stand-up comedy, part “teen zine vomit confessional,” THEY, THEMSELF AND SCHMERM is the New York City-based trans performer's personal tale of being adopted into a Midwestern religious family, trained to be a girl, molested, and plagued by the question, “How do I become a man and do I even want that?” 

In response to critical acclaim and popular demand, Soho Rep., in association with John Adrian Selzer, extends the world premiere, Soho Rep. commission of Richard Maxwell's Samara through May 14.

At the Mezzanine Theatre at the A.R.T./New York Theatres (502 W 53rd Street), Soho Rep. is pleased to present the world premiere of Richard Maxwell's Samara, commissioned by Artistic Director Sarah Benson. In a departure, Maxwell, who has directed nearly all 20 of his plays, is handing over the directorial duties to Benson. Maxwell's work was seen previously at Soho Rep. in 2001 with Cavemen and in 1999 with Cowboys and Indians.

La MaMa presents I'm Bleeding All Over The Place: A Living History Tour, conceived and directed by Brooke O'Harra, text by Brooke O'Harra and Casey Llewellyn, with Erin Courtney, Kristin Kosmas and Heidi Schreck, and original music by Brendan Connelly. I'm Bleeding All Over The Place runs from June 16 - 26, 2016 at La MaMa's Ellen Stewart Theatre, located at 66 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and the Bowery in New York City.

When I attended In the Heights on Broadway, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Accordingly, I had the upmost confidence that the incarnation at The Noel Ruiz Theatre at CM Performing Arts Center was going to be just as stellar; and it is. The wonderful production runs through February 7th at the Long Island venue.

Directed by Jordan Fein, A Ride On The Irish Cream stars real-life couple Becca Blackwell (Doris Duke Impact Award Recipient) and Markey, a "magnetic diva," (The New York Times). It features a live, four-piece band playing original music composed by Kenny Mellman, Emily Bate and Markey.
