Reverend Billy's EARTHALUJAH Set for Joe's Pub, 11/24-12/22

This November and December Joe's Pub at The Public presents five performances of Reverend Billy & The Stop Shopping Choir in Earthalujah, directed by Savitri D with music director Nehemiah Luckett and featuring a 35-member choir and music from the 5-piece Not Buying It Band. Rev. Billy and Stop Shopping Choir Director Face Prison for Manhattan Performance

Prosecutors are demanding a year in prison and $30k bail for William Talen (aka Reverend Billy) and Nehemiah Luckett, Music Director of the Reverend's Church of Stop Shopping, for a recent performance the Stop Shopping Choir, costumed as extinct toads, gave in a JP Morgan Chase bank in Manhattan. The 15-minute performance in the Chase Bank has earned criminal charges of "Riot," "Menacing" and "Unlawful Assembly."

Alison Fraser and Mitchell Jarvis to Lead GETTIN' THE BAND BACK TOGETHER at George Street Playhouse, 9/24-10/27

9 Livingston Avenue in New Brunswick will be rockin' every night beginning September 24 with music and laughter. George Street Playhouse and Artistic Director David Saint have announced casting for the opening production for the venerable theatre's fortieth season. Gettin' The Band Back Together (formerly titled Garage Band) is a rockin' valentine to the Garden State, and will be directed by Tony Award-winner John Rando - who also helmed The Toxic Avenger in New Brunswick (and New York) a few seasons back. Gettin' The Band Back Together will rock the house beginning Tuesday, September 24 and continue through Sunday, October 27. Opening night is set for Friday, October 4. Gettin' The Band Back Together is performed by special arrangement with Davenport Theatrical Enterprises, Inc. and Roy Putrino.

Highland Dancing, Living History Presentations & Cultural Gems at 164th Highland Games Festival

The 164th Annual Highland Games presented by the St. Andrew's Society of Detroit will be held on Saturday, August 3rd at Historic Greenmead in Livonia (Eight Mile and Newburgh) beginning at 8:30 a.m. Advanced tickets are $12.00 with children 12 and under free. Ceilidh (Scottish Party) will be held the night before at Greenmead. Tickets for Ceilidh are $15.00, advance purchase only. Stagedoor Manor Joins Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Lineup

A group of 136 Stagedoor Manor students from all over the world will sing and dance the grand finale at this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade®, marking the famed theatrical summertime training ground's fourth consecutive Parade performance. After traveling the entire parade route, the Stagedoor Manor students will arrive at Herald Square and introduce Santa Claus by performing the number "Santa By The Book" from Macy's new program Yes, Virginia The Musical. Yes, Virginia The Musical had its world premiere at Stagedoor Manor earlier this year and its original cast, made up of 28 Stagedoor Manor students ages 10-13, will accompany Santa and Mrs. Claus on their float for the entirety of the Parade route.

Circus Amok Premieres MOO, Now thru September 23

Obie and Bessie Award-winning Circus Amok, New York City's only one-ring, traveling political circus, once again lands in neighborhood parks throughout the city for the world premiere of its new production, "MOO." All performances have a running-time of one hour and are free to the public, playing Saturdays and Sundays, today, September 8-23, 2012.
