Review: MISERY Loves Company in This Stage Adaptation of Stephen King's Ultimate Thriller at Jobsite Theater

Misery written by the incomparable “Master of Horror” Stephen King was first released via Viking Press on June 8, 1987. The story revolves around the main character, romance novelist Paul Sheldon, and his self-proclaimed number-one fan Annie Wilkes. Paul is seriously injured in a car crash, and Annie being a former nurse discovers Paul and brings him home for rehabilitation. While staying in Annie’s home, Paul receives treatment and pain meds and soon discovers he is prisoner and forced to adhere to all of his captor’s demands.

Review: JULIUS CAESAR at Avant Bard Theatre

Avant Bard’s production of Julius Caesar is thoughtful, charming, and thoroughly entertaining. It’s well worth the trip over the river for Shakespeare fans and critics alike, and will hopefully change the way you view the classical figure and play that loom so large in our world.

'Ode To Ova' Will Run Concurrently With MENSTRUATION: A PERIOD PIECE at LA LGBT Center

Big Little Theater Company in association with the Los Angeles LGBT Center, with support from We the Women, has announced Ode to OVA (aka OOVA), an interactive art installation by Yeu Q Nguyen, will run in The Center's Advocate & Gochis Galleries concurrently with the world premiere production of Menstruation: A Period Piece by Miranda Rose Hall.

Mark Rylance Will Lead DR. SEMMELWEIS in the West End

Mark Rylance returns to the West End this summer in Dr Semmelweis opening at the Harold Pinter Theatre on 11 July, with previews from 29 June, and running until Saturday 7 October. The critically acclaimed Bristol Old Vic production, directed by Tom Morris, opened in 2022, and sees Rylance reprise the title role.  

American Stage Summer Camp Offers Creative Outlet For Kids

The camp runs June 5 - August 4 on a weekly basis out of First Presbyterian Church [701 Beach Dr. NE, St. Petersburg] Teaching artists are hands on with students 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Pre-care is available an hour before camp starts (8 a.m.), and aftercare is available for two hours after (5 p.m.).
