New spellers have been added to Broadway Bound Kids' fourth annual Broadway Bee set for Monday, May 6, 2019, at 7 PM at Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker Street). It's a comedic adult spelling bee featuring cast members from hit Broadway shows who compete in a hilarious live event, while raising funds to provide a wide range of performing arts opportunities for NYC youth, regardless of their financial resources. Tickets are now available.
Launched in 2004, Broadway Bound Kids has touched the lives of thousands of children; along the way, it's won fans such as John Stamos, the "Hamilton" cast, and multiple Tony award winner Christian Borle, who raves, "Broadway Bound Kids fosters a level of respect, creativity, and support that's like nothing I've ever seen."
Last night, Orange is the New Black's Danielle Brooks, Dascha Polanco, and Natasha Lyonne visited Ain't Too Proud on Broadway! In addition, Clive Davis was also in attendance! The Original Broadway Cast Recording of the new musical Ain't Too Proud The Life and Times of The Temptations will be released by UMe this spring. The album, which was recorded earlier this year, is available for pre-orders beginning today, and will be released on March 21 on physical CDs, sold exclusively at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street), with the digital album available on March 22. The CD will be available in wide release on April 19, and a double-LP vinyl will be available on June 7.
