Fraser Entertainment Group's An Evening of Classic Broadway, a recent nominee for BWW.com's Los Angeles Regional Award for Best Special Theatre Event, makes a return engagement at Rockwell Table and Stage in Los Angeles. The show tune songfest will take place on Tuesday, January 29th at 8PM (doors open at 6:30).

LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS & McCOY RIGBY ENTERTAINMENT (celebrating its 25th Silver Anniversary at the theatre) are thrilled to present the award-winning and revolutionary 1776 THE MUSICAL, with musical direction by Jeff Rizzo and directed & staged by Glenn Casale. 1776 THE MUSICAL will preview on Friday, January 11, 2019 (with a press opening on Saturday, January 12 at 8pm) and runs through Sunday, February 3, 2019 at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd in La Mirada.  

On Monday, November 19th, (mostly)musicals returned to Upstairs at Vitello's to celebrate the holidays with their 30th edition! Music director Gregory Nabours led a jingling (ring-ting-tingling too!) evening, featuring Alli Miller (CHERRY POPPINS), Amy Engelhardt (BASTARD JONES), Clent Bowers (B'way: CATS, BIG), Emily Clark (Stealing Focus), Gabriel Gonzalez (La Verdad), Iara Nemirovsky (National tour: SCHOOL OF ROCK), Jeffrey Polk (B'way: FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE), Kelley Dorney (IN A BOOTH AT CHASEN'S), Kristina Miller (JERSEY BOYS), Jonny Lee Jr. and Justin Anthony Long (CITY OF DREAMS), Juan Lozano (2 Cents Theatre Company), Keith and Laura Nicole Harrison (EMOJILAND), Natalia Vivino (CHILDREN OF EDEN at 5-Star Theatricals), and Shawn Ryan ('America's Got Talent'). The evening also showcased a guest performance from the cast of the critically acclaimed Greenway Court production of THE COLOR PURPLE, and, as always, the open mic afterparty! I cannot even think of enough accolades to share about the current production being staged by Greenway Arts Alliance (Whitney Weston and Pierson Blaetz, Co-Founders and Co-Artistic Directors) at the Greenway Court Theatre (544 N. Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles) through December 9. The totally entertaining and artistically brilliant production, directed and choreographed by NAACP Theater Award-winner Jeffrey Polk, pulled me in from the moment it started until the end, given the amazingly talented cast who bring the characters so realistically to life that you can actually feel all the emotions each is going through from moment to moment. You will laugh, be fearful, cry and celebrate with all of them by the time the show ends.

Broadway's Clent Bowers (CATS, BIG) and EMOJILAND creators Laura Nicole Harrison and Keith Harrison will make their 1st (mostly)musicals appearances on 11.19.18 in HEADED FOR THE HOLIDAYS, the 30th edition of the popular cabaret series. Alli Miller (CHERRY POPPINS, I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER), and Juan Lozano (2Cents Theatre, The Freedom Ledges) will also join the previously announced merry sleigh-full of performers!

Greenway Arts Alliance (Whitney Weston and Pierson Blaetz, Co-Founders and Co-Artistic Directors) announced the cast and creative team for the THE COLOR PURPLE, which will play at the Greenway Court Theatre (544 N. Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles). Performances run from November 9 through December 9 with the official press opening on Saturday, November 10. The Tony Award-winning musical features a book by Marsha Norman and music and lyrics by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis and Stephen Bray. Directing and choreographing the cast of 15 is NAACP Theater Award-winner Jeffrey Polk (Smokey Joe's Cafe).

Theatre Bay Area, the third-largest regional theatre service organization in North America, announced the finalists for the 2018 TBA Awards. The fifth annual TBA Awards Celebration will be held on Monday, Nov. 5 at the Herbst Theatre (401 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco). Tickets for the public go on sale Friday, September 28, 2018, through City Box Office.

Somewhere in a cheap hotel in Chicago, circa late 1930s, three women are singing the blues. Two have been around the block and seen it all. One is woefully wise beyond her years. All have been burned by the flames of desire and lovers who have done them wrong. This is the set-up for BLUES IN THE NIGHT, the musical revue conceived and directed by Sheldon Epps, playing through May 20th in the Lovelace Studio Theater at The Wallis.

PERRY LAYLON OJEDA , after a hit run at Palm Springs' Coachella Valley Rep and a string of high profile cruise ship performances, returns to Upstairs at Vitello's singing The Songs of Betty Comden and Adolph Green, the legendary and longest running creative partnership in American Theatre History.
