The American Theatre Wing and The Village Voice have announced that the star-studded line-up of presenters at tonight's 62nd Annual Obie Awards.

The American Theatre Wing (Heather Hitchens, President) and The Village Voice (Peter Barbey, Owner) are thrilled to announce the winners of the 62nd Annual Obie Awards®. Jennifer Kidwell & Scott R. Sheppard's Underground Railroad Game, produced by Ars Nova, and J.T. Roger's Oslo, produced by Lincoln Center Theater, shared the Obie Awards for Best New American Theatre Work, which is accompanied by a $500 prize each. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel received a special Obie Award for Lifetime Achievement. Obie and Screen Actors Guild® Award-winning actress Lea DeLaria returned as host of this year's ceremony, which was held at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street). This afternoon, Broadway's brightest gathered at the Marriott Marquis Times Square to celebrate this years Drama League Awards nominees for Outstanding Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award.

Just yesterday, the New York Drama Critics' Circle gathered to honor their 2017 award winners at Feinstein's/54 Below- Best Play: Oslo and Best Musical: The Band's Visit. The award for best play carries a cash prize of $2,500. The prize is made possible by a grant from the Lucille Lortel Foundation.

Theatre for a New Audience has announced casting for British director Simon Godwin's new staging of Measure for Measure, William Shakespeare's dark comedy about justice, faith, power, sex, and family.

Three years after taking Broadway by storm as the D'Ysquith clan (second Tony nomination), Jefferson Mays is back! His current role as OSLO's Terje Rod-Larsen has earned him his third nomination, for best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play, and he's telling us why this time of year has him acting delirious and giddy all over again! 

This week's guests include Oslo playwright J.T. Rogers, director Bartlett Sher, and actors Jennifer Ehle and Jefferson Mays, who portray real-life Norwegian diplomats Mona Juul and Terje Rod-Larsen. All the members of our panel are 2017 Tony nominees for Oslo, which received a total of 7 Tony Award nominations.

On May 3, the 2017 Tony nominees flocked to the Sofitel New York, where they met with the press for the first time since getting the big news. J.T. Rogers and Bartlett Sher are two of seven Tony nominees for Lincoln Center Theatre's poignant new play- Oslo. Below, the playwright and director open up about the process and how the technical aspects of this project have been the most complex that they've worked on yet!

This week THEATER TALK features the lead actors, playwright and director of the acclaimed play Oslo at Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theater - Jennifer Ehle, Jefferson Mays, writer J.T. Rogers, and director Bartlett Sher - and continues with Part 2 of an interview with the creators of the hit musical Dear Evan Hansen - librettist Steven Levenson and composer/lyricists Benj Pasek & Justin Paul, who perform songs from Dear Evan Hansen, Dogfight, and La La Land.

Just last night, acclaimed Off-Broadway theater company Playwrights Horizons held its annual Spring Gala Benefit. This year called A CELEBRATION OF SONG, it honored three of the company's exceptional alumni writers: Tony Award nominee Scott Frankel (Grey Gardens, Far From Heaven), Tony Award nominee Michael Korie (Grey Gardens, Far From Heaven) and Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife, Grey Gardens). J.T. Rogers has won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Play for OSLO.

Everything's coming up Tonys! Spring has sprung, awards season has begun, and the latter is all that really matters to Broadway fans everywhere. Earlier this week, Jane Krakowski and Christopher Jackson announced the 2017 Tony nominees, celebrating the best of the 2016-17 theatre season (and what a season it's been!). Topping this year's list is Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812, which received twelve nominations, closely followed by Hello, Dolly! and Dear Evan Hansen- picking up ten and nine nods respectively. 

The big day is here! The 71st Annual Tony Award Nominations will be announced today, May 2, from the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. The Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the fourth and final time this season and confirmed the eligibility of 16 Broadway productions for the 2017 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards®, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. The Tony Awards Administration Committee met a total of four times throughout the 2016-2017 season to decide the eligibility for the 71st Annual Tony Awards.
