Just last night, Lincoln Center Theater held its annual benefit celebrating Andre Bishop (Producing Artistic Director) and his 25 Years at LCT.

When J.T. Rogers' fascinating play about the power and beauty of human interaction and diplomacy, OSLO, premiered Off-Broadway this past July at Lincoln Center's Mitzi Newhouse Theater, it was a week before the national convention where Donald Trump was to be voted in as the Republican party's presidential candidate. While a good deal of the country was surprised to see the celebrity businessman who had never held a political office get so far in the election process, New York playgoers, a predominantly left-leaning bunch, were most likely optimistic, though cautiously so, that his candidacy would collapse during the general election.

Lincoln Center Theater has announced an online ticket lottery for its production of the critically acclaimed J.T. Rogers' play OSLO, beginning with the play's first preview this Thursday, March 23 at 8pm at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65th Street).  The production, directed by Bartlett Sher, opens on Thursday, April 13.

When A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER debuted on Broadway In October 2013, very few, if any, theatrical observers pegged the show for a two-plus-year main-stem run and four Tony Awards. After debuting at the Hartford Stage in Connecticut the previous November, and having another out-of-town tryout the following March at the Old Globe in San Diego, the show came to Broadway with very little fan-fare. Over-shadowed in the season by bigger-name musicals like ALADDIN, LES MISERABLES, BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROL KING MUSICAL, and HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE trudged along in its first six months in New York hovering between $400,000-$500,000 at the weekly box office; likely not covering its operating costs.

The productions discussed were The Encounter; Holiday Inn; Oh, Hello on Broadway; Heisenberg; The Cherry Orchard; The Front Page; Falsettos; Les Liaisons Dangereuses; Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812; A Bronx Tale; Dear Evan Hansen; In Transit; and The Present.

John Goodman chatted about getting pneumonia and having to miss some performances of his Broadway show THE FRONT PAGE on today's "LIVE with Kelly."

Producer Scott Rudin announced today that The Front Page recouped its entire $4.875 million capitalization during the week ending Sunday, January 1, making official the show's much discussed smash-hit status.
