Purple Rose Theatre Company Rounds Out 2018-2019 Season with World Premiere WELCOME TO PARADISE

The Purple Rose Theatre Company (PRTC) will continue its 28th season with "Welcome to Paradise", a world premiere by Julie Marino. Tickets are on sale now. Performances run from Thursday, June 20 through Saturday, August 31, 2019. Previews with reduced-price tickets are available through Thursday, June 27. Opening night is Friday, June 28.

Breaking: Richard Thomas Will Play Atticus Finch in TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD on Tour

To Kill A Mockingbird, Aaron Sorkin's new play, directed by Bartlett Sher, and based on Harper Lee's classic novel, will launch its coast-to-coast National Tour in August 2020 at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in the heart of the nation's capital. The tour will be on the road for over two years. According to the Hollywood Reporter, stage and screen star Richard Thomas will lead the production as Atticus Finch.

The now history-making gross of $40,113,926.13, was set this week. To Kill a Mockingbird opened to critical acclaim at the Shubert Theatre on Thursday, December 13, 2018.

The 2019 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out last night to recipients in 19 categories, with one special award and three honorary awards also bestowed. The Lortel Awards were distributed in a ceremony at NYU Skirball Center hosted by Drama Desk Award-nominated writer and performer of The New One, Mike Birbiglia. The Lucille Lortel Awards are produced by the Off-Broadway League by special arrangement with the Lucille Lortel Theatre Foundation. Additional support is provided by TDF.

Aaron Sorkin Reveals Lawsuit Induced Changes to TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD

It's no secret that To Kill a Mockingbird went through quite a fight to make it to Broadway. These included a battle with the Harper Lee Estate's executor Tanja Carter who required changes to be made before the script was allowed to be performed. In a recent interview, Sorkin discussed these changes as well as his early process and character choices he made that varied from the original novel.
