Young People's Chorus of New York City to Honor Gordon Getty at 32nd Annual Gala, Hosted by Jason Mraz

Young People's Chorus of New York City® (YPC), led by Founder and Artistic Director Francisco J. Núñez, will return to Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall on Tuesday, March 10 at 7:00 p.m. for the chorus' 32nd annual Gala Concert, this year in honor of composer and philanthropist Gordon Getty. Hosted by multiple Grammy Award-winning artist Jason Mraz, the event recognizes Mr. Getty as a YPC Legacy Honoree for his shared commitment to and efforts on behalf of making music education accessible to young people of all backgrounds. Mr. Núñez said:

THE DOO WOP PROJECT is Coming to The Ridgefield Playhouse

Featuring stars of Broadway hits Jersey Boys, Motown: The Musical and Chazz Palminteri's A Bronx Tale, The Doo Wop Project traces the evolution of Doo Wop, from the classic sound of five guys singing tight harmonies on a street corner to the biggest hits on the radio today. DWP takes the audience on a journey from the songs of groups like the Crests, Belmonts and Flamingos through their influences on the sounds of Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, and The Four Seasons all the way to 'DooWopified' versions of modern musicians like Michael Jackson, Jason Mraz and Maroon 5. The Doo Wop Project comes to The Ridgefield Playhouse Wednesday, March 25 at 7:30pm, part of Northern Trust Broadway & Cabaret Series with support from Teed & Brown, and Pepsi Rock Series powered by Xfinity.

MUM Comes to the Playground Theatre

Amanda Boxer will star in the world premiere of MUM, a new play about love, loss and dementia by actress and comedian Juliet Cowan, directed by Yasmeen Arden, opening at the Playground Theatre on 18 April and playing until 4 April, with a press night on Friday 20 March. Sian Ejiwunmi-Le Berre will star as 'Roz', Lucille Findlay as 'Laurel' and completing the cast are Lilly Driscoll and Martin Edwards.

Kerry Hart Releases Debut Album I KNOW A GUN

Today, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Kerry Hart releases her debut album I Know A Gun. The album, which has already seen notable critical acclaim, has been met with enthusiastic fan response, with over 2M streams on Youtube, and well past half a million streams on Spotify and Apple Music. Today Hart is also spotlighting her new track 'Great Water' for fans. She describes the song as 'a modern hymnal, a worship song to the water, to the sky, and to the Great Spirit. It's an offering of one's burden on to the alter of Spirit, a pledge of faith to a higher power, a wider perspective. Within it, a potent lamentation, and a prayerful willingness to receive absolution.'

Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Christian Lopez returns to the scene with the official video for his latest single 'Sip of Mine' today. The track marks a new beginning for the 24-year old rising act who recently moved to Los Angeles and waved goodbye to his Nashville/Music City stomping ground. Having made his debut at only 19 years old (Onward) and launching his sophomore release at 21 (Red Arrow) via Blaster Records, Christian now has his eyes set on the future as an independent pop artist. 'Sip of Mine' is just the first single to be revealed from Christian Lopez' forthcoming collection and fans can expect a steady slew of releases throughout 2020.

Alvin Ailey's Alicia Graf Mack Will Guest Perform At Broadway Inspirational Voices Holiday Concert

2019 Tony Award Honoree Michael McElroy and the BROADWAY INSPIRATIONAL VOICES announce the addition of Alicia Graf Mack to their 2019 holiday concert, Seasons of Inspiration. Ms. Mack is the current Director of Juilliard Dance, and co-founder of D(n)A Arts Collective, an initiative created to enrich the lives of young dancers through master classes and intensives. Her distinguished career as a leading dancer includes Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Dance Theatre of Harlem, and special performances with artists such as Alicia Keys, John Legend, and Beyoncé. She is a recipient of the Columbia University Medal of Excellence, and Smithsonian magazine named her an American Innovator of the Arts and Sciences.

Natalie Merchant, Francisco Núñez and More Celebrated at ASCAP Foundation Honors

Renowned music creators and up-and-coming talent gathered together to celebrate the humanitarian accomplishments of some of ASCAP's most influential members while recognizing the next generation of music creators at the 2019 ASCAP Foundation Honors tonight at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall, Broadway at 60th Street, in New York City. An inspirational evening that also honored The ASCAP Foundation's 2019 scholarship recipients, the night was filled with unforgettable performances and heartfelt remarks.
