FRIGID New York will present the 14th annual The Fire This Time Festival at The Kraine Theater January 16-29, 2023.

The Obie-Award winning The Fire This Time Festival has announced the four playwrights – Kendra Augustin, Kim Brockington, Jahquale Mazyck and James Anthony Tyler –  who will be developing work in the 5th cycle of its New Works Lab program.

FRIGID New York will present the 14th Annual The Fire This Time Festival at The Kraine Theater (85 E 4th St, New York, NY 10003), January 16-29, 2023. 

FRIGID New York will present season 13 of The Fire This Time Festival reading series featuring presentations of projects by playwrights Niccolo Aeed, Cyrus Aaron, Jay Mazyck and Deneen Reynolds-Knott.

Baltimore Center Stage has announced the complete cast and creative team for Our Town. Written by Thornton Wilder and directed by Stevie Walker-Webb (The Folks at Home), Our Town begins performances on Thursday September 15 for a limited run through Sunday October 9.

FRIGID New York will present the 13th Annual The Fire This Time Festival at The Kraine Theater, July 7-10. The festival will feature World Premiere 10-minute plays by early career and under-represented playwrights from the African diaspora, co-directed by Zhailon Levingston and actor, writer, director and TFTT alum Tracey Conyer Lee. 

FRIGID New York will present the 13th Annual The Fire This Time Festival at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery), July 7-10 with performances on Thursday, July 7 at 7pm, Friday, July 8 at 7pm, Saturday, July 9th at 2pm, Saturday, July 9th at 7pm, and Sunday, July 10th at 3pm.

This free festival, running May 16–22, explores and celebrates new voices in American Theater. With workshops, a panel discussion, and talk-backs—both in-person and online—the New Work Festival strengthens TheaterWorks Hartford’s commitment to the development of important new plays.

TheaterWorks Hartford is thrilled to present the 2022 edition of its New Work Festival. This free festival, running May 16–22, explores and celebrates new voices in American Theater. With workshops, a panel discussion, and talk-backs—both in-person and online—the New Work Festival strengthens TheaterWorks Hartford’s commitment to the development of important new plays. Participants include playwrights Brooke Berman, Melissa Crespo & Sarah Saltwick, Terry Guest, and James Anthony Tyler who are joined by directors Shariffa Ali, Michael Barakiva, Mikael Burke, and Caitlin Sullivan.  For three nights only, Audible Theater will present An Evening with Amber Iman, which began performances last night. Remaining performances at the Minetta Lane Theatre are this evening (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday) at 7:00pm. 

Flint Repertory Theatre presents 2022 New Works Festival April 29-May 1. Flint Rep's annual New Works Festival is a three-day event presenting staged readings of new plays. Audience members will get a chance to experience this new work before anyone else and participate in post-show discussions with the playwrights.

On March 10, 2022 New York City’s Obie Award-winning The Fire This Time Festival will release an anthology entitled 25 Plays from The Fire This Time Festival: A Decade of Recognition, Resistance, Resilience, Rebirth and Black Theatre.

Circle X Theatre Co. has selected participants and mentors for the 2021-2022 Evolving Playwrights Group, a group for groundbreaking and provocative voices to dedicate their time, energy, and attention to developing ambitious, brand new plays.

The festival, which was originally scheduled to run January 17-February 6, 2022 at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery), features World Premiere 10-minute plays by early career and under-represented playwrights from the African diaspora. Information on the new performance dates will be announced in the coming months.

The Obie Award-winning The Fire This Time Festival (TFTT) is excited to announce the three dramatists who have been selected to participate in the fourth cycle of their New Works Lab Program: William Watkins, Shamar S. White, and Antu Yacob.
