As Maira Kalman's illustrated curtain rises for David Byrne's choreographed concert, which takes its name from his 2018 album, American Utopia, the singer/songwriter is seriously contemplating the human brain. Specifically, his recently-acquired knowledge that that the abundance of neural connections in an infant's brain decreases significantly as the tyke grows into adulthood.

Fresh off an acclaimed pre-Broadway engagement at Boston's Emerson Colonial Theatre, David Byrne's American Utopia is currently in previews at the intimate Hudson Theatre on Broadway. The once-in-a-lifetime Broadway event will celebrate opening night on Sunday, October 20.

On Monday, August 19th Ashley Kate Adams (La Cage Aux Folles) of AKA Studio Productions will present a reading of FRANKIE! The Musical with Book, Music & Lyrics by teen prodigy Elise Marra and directed by Joe Barros (NY Theatre Barn). 

After a sold-out, year-long critically acclaimed international tour, David Byrne's American Utopia will play a strictly limited engagement on Broadway at the intimate Hudson Theatre from October 4, 2019 through January 19, 2020, with the official opening set for October 20, 2019.
