Diversionary Theatre announced complete casting for its production of The Divine Sister written by Charles Busch and directed by Glenn Paris. Performances begin at Diversionary Theatre (4545 Park Blvd., San Diego, CA 92116) on May 23, 2013

Diversionary Theatre's San Diego premiere of The Further Adventures of Hedda Gabler, a satirical romp from the author of Avenue Q, Jeff Whitty and directed by Matt McGrath, officially opens April 6 and runs through April 28, 2013.

Diversionary Theatre announces the addition of Justin Love, a new musical fantasy, to complete its 2013 roster of mainstage productions. Joining the currently running West Coast premiere of Birds of a Feather (through March 3, 2013) and the San Diego premiere of the literary romp, The Further Adventures of Hedda Gabbler (March 28 - April 28, 2013), will be the West Coast premiere of Charles Busch's hilarious spoof The Divine Sister (May 23 - June 30, 2013), directed by Glenn Paris, and the world premiere farce She-Rantulas From Outer Space (October 24 - November 17, 2013), by Phil Johnson and Ruff Yeager. By popular demand, Diversionary will also bring back its twisted take on holiday tradition Scrooge in Rouge (December 5 - 29, 2013).

By popular demand, Scrooge in Rouge, the British dance hall musical, returns to Diversionary on Friday, December 14, directed by Tony Houck (Craig Noel Award-winner for outstanding featured performance in Diversionary's 2008 production) and featuring Jacque Wilke, Tony Houck, Stewart Calhoun and Ricky Schaffer on the piano.

Craig Wright's Mistakes Were Made is described as 'a furious and funny 90 minutes of theatre.' The comedy, by this prolific writer for theater and TV (Six Feet Under, Brothers and Sisters, Dirty Sexy Money), opened in 2010 at the Off Broadway Barrow Street Theatre featuring Michael Shannon. Cygnet will present its West Coast premiere.

Diversionary Theatre will bring the Tony-nominated play, Next Fall to San Diego. Diversionary's production will feature Matt McGrath, who recently starred in the Old Globe's hit production of The Rocky Horror Show. The production reunites McGrath with Rocky Horror director, James Vasquez at the helm of Next Fall.

This will be NVA's biggest season ever, with eight full productions, NVA's first musical and two local premieres. Over the past nine seasons, NVA has established itself as one of the most important mid-sized theatres in San Diego, producing over 40 highly acclaimed productions, including a world-premiere holiday show, multiple regional and local premieres, unforgettable American and world classics, the intense work of Sam Shepard and the popular FREE Shakespeare in the Park. New Village Arts honors that history in Season 10 and introduces some exciting new traditions for North County, by selecting shows that honor the history of the company, recognize the amazing current growth and give an intriguing glimpse into the future.
