It will be tawdry, two-steppin' fun when the irascible Miss Kitty (Tony Houck) welcomes you to her Wild West saloon featuring scantily clad dancing boys, raunchy humor and a wild good time. It's Golden Horseshoe Revue meets Best Little Whorehouse with a just a splash of Brokeback Mountain.

Diversionary Theatre will be in full drag this June during our hilarious hit production of The Divine Sister! We will be paying homage to the greats of drag performance during the run of the smash comedy, written by playwright, actor and drag legend Charles Busch, in two ways:

Diversionary Theatre's San Diego premiere of The Further Adventures of Hedda Gabler, a satirical romp from the author of Avenue Q, Jeff Whitty and directed by Matt McGrath, officially opens April 6 and runs through April 28, 2013.

Diversionary Theatre announces the addition of Justin Love, a new musical fantasy, to complete its 2013 roster of mainstage productions. Joining the currently running West Coast premiere of Birds of a Feather (through March 3, 2013) and the San Diego premiere of the literary romp, The Further Adventures of Hedda Gabbler (March 28 - April 28, 2013), will be the West Coast premiere of Charles Busch's hilarious spoof The Divine Sister (May 23 - June 30, 2013), directed by Glenn Paris, and the world premiere farce She-Rantulas From Outer Space (October 24 - November 17, 2013), by Phil Johnson and Ruff Yeager. By popular demand, Diversionary will also bring back its twisted take on holiday tradition Scrooge in Rouge (December 5 - 29, 2013).

By popular demand, Scrooge in Rouge, the British dance hall musical, returns to Diversionary on Friday, December 14, directed by Tony Houck (Craig Noel Award-winner for outstanding featured performance in Diversionary's 2008 production) and featuring Jacque Wilke, Tony Houck, Stewart Calhoun and Ricky Schaffer on the piano.

Craig Wright's Mistakes Were Made is described as 'a furious and funny 90 minutes of theatre.' The comedy, by this prolific writer for theater and TV (Six Feet Under, Brothers and Sisters, Dirty Sexy Money), opened in 2010 at the Off Broadway Barrow Street Theatre featuring Michael Shannon. Cygnet will present its West Coast premiere.

Diversionary Theatre will bring the Tony-nominated play, Next Fall to San Diego. Diversionary's production will feature Matt McGrath, who recently starred in the Old Globe's hit production of The Rocky Horror Show. The production reunites McGrath with Rocky Horror director, James Vasquez at the helm of Next Fall.
