Inaugural YIDDISHFEST Announces Full Lineup of Events

The Yiddishkayt Initiative (YI) (Avi Hoffman, Producing Artistic Director) and Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, Artistic Director) have announced the full lineup of events for the inaugural YI Love New York YiddishFest. This selection of performances, screenings, and discussions centered around Jewish culture and Yiddish entertainment will play several New York City venues from December 21-29. Idyllwild Arts Foundation welcomes new year-round Director of Orchestral Programs Ransom Wilson andAssociate Director of Orchestral Programs, Gregory Robbins. Signaling the beginning of an exciting new era, in which the Summer Program and Academy will become more closely integrated, Wilson and Robbins have been brought on board this fall to build on the prestige and prominence of the existing program. Wilson is a world-renowned flutist, recording artist, chamber musician and conductor who joins Idyllwild Arts from Yale University School of Music where he is professor of flute. Robbins is a performer and educator who most recently served as the director of educational outreach at the Geneva Music Festival and executive director of the Young Artists Philharmonic.

CSO's AMERICAN FESTIVAL Offers Works Inspired By Moving Moments In US History

Five guest soloists and the Columbus Symphony Chorus join CSO Music Director Rossen Milanov and the musicians of the Columbus Symphony for The American Festival, performing Paul Moravec and Mark Campbell's monumental oratorio Sanctuary Road based on the writings of William Still, a conductor on the Underground Railroad who helped almost 800 slaves escape to freedom. The program also includes a concert version of Gershwin's American classic, Porgy and Bess.

Chamber Music Society Of Detroit Kicks Off 76th Season With Miro Quartet

The Chamber Music Society of Detroit opens its 2019-2020 76th season with the Miró Quartet and clarinetist Anthony McGill at 8:00 PM on Saturday, September 14, 2019.  The concert takes place at Seligman Performing Arts Center, located at 22305 W. 13 Mile Road in Beverly Hills.  In addition to featuring Mozart's masterful Clarinet Quintet, the program includes Glière's Andantino from his String Quartet No. 1 in A major, as well as the Midwest premiere of a?oeHome,a?? a new work by American composer Kevin Puts co-commissioned by the Chamber Music Society of Detroit.
