Las Vegas Philharmonic (LVP) announces that Christina Castellanos has been appointed as Principal Flute. A member of the orchestra since 2001, Castellanos joined the LVP when she was a senior at UNLV and has remained a strong and dynamic presence in the ensemble.

CSO Music Director Rossen Milanov and the musicians of the Columbus Symphony feature guest cellist Pablo Ferrández in a performance of Elgar's Cello Concerto, showcasing the intimate voice of the cello in one of its most glorious and moving embodiments. The program will also include the sparkling orchestration of Torres' Tres Pinturas Velazqueñas, an aural reflection of three of the most famous paintings by Diego Velázquez, and conclude with Brahms' rarely performed masterwork, Symphony No. 3.

University of Washington School of Music today announces the appointment of celebrated Korean-American violinist Rachel Lee Priday to the faculty as Assistant Professor of Violin in the UW Strings Program, effective in the 2019-2020 school year.

In its nearly 90 year history, the Grand Rapids Symphony has welcomed such guest artists as violinist Itzhak Perlman and Midori, cellists Yo-Yo Ma and Janos Starker, and pianists Van Cliburn, Emanuel Ax and Leon Fleisher to its stages. Many have played here more than once. 

In the coming year, the classical music world celebrates the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's birth.

For the second year, the Peace Center invites audiences to dive deeper into the artistic works heading to the main stage through Peace Interludes. Five guest soloists and the Columbus Symphony Chorus join CSO Music Director Rossen Milanov and the musicians of the Columbus Symphony for The American Festival, performing Paul Moravec and Mark Campbell's monumental oratorio Sanctuary Road based on the writings of William Still, a conductor on the Underground Railroad who helped almost 800 slaves escape to freedom. The program also includes a concert version of Gershwin's American classic, Porgy and Bess.

The Chamber Music Society of Detroit opens its 2019-2020 76th season with the Miró Quartet and clarinetist Anthony McGill at 8:00 PM on Saturday, September 14, 2019.  The concert takes place at Seligman Performing Arts Center, located at 22305 W. 13 Mile Road in Beverly Hills.  In addition to featuring Mozart's masterful Clarinet Quintet, the program includes Glière's Andantino from his String Quartet No. 1 in A major, as well as the Midwest premiere of a?oeHome,a?? a new work by American composer Kevin Puts co-commissioned by the Chamber Music Society of Detroit.

Last night, at their performance in the David Rubenstein Atrium for Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival, the award-winning violinist Tessa Lark and virtuoso composer and bassist Michael Thurber  announced the release of Invention, their debut recording as a duo. Invention is anchored by J.S. Bach's Two-Part Inventions and fuses the pair's classical and American music influences into a wholly original sound.

Violinist Itzhak Perlman, one of the reigning artists of our day, will make a rare appearance for a recital to inaugurate the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts' 2019-2020 Season on September 19 at 7pm.  Perlman is accompanied by Rohan De Silva, piano.

THE UNITED STATES NAVY BAND CRUISERS is one of the premier musical organizations of the U.S. Navy. The Cruisers will perform in Ocean Grove as part of OGCMA's traditional family entertainment offerings.

The Peace Center has added three classical music concerts to the schedule

Compagnia de' Colombari, an international collective of performing artists founded and directed by Karin Coonrod, presents More Or Less I Am: a music-theater piece drawn entirely from Walt Whitman's revolutionary free verse long poem, 'Song of Myself,'one of the original twelve pieces that comprise his 1855 collection Leaves of Grass. The next performance in this series, spanning multiple venues throughout the five boroughs, will take place on Sunday, May 26, 2019, 7:30 pm at Fort Greene Park, Brooklyn.

State Theatre New Jersey has unveiled its 2019-20 Classical Series, featuring five amazing acts. Tickets for the Classical Series are on sale now only via phone and walk-up as part of the State Theatre's Buy More Save More program.
