Omaha Performing Arts and Disney Theatrical Group are proud to offer a sensory friendly performance of Disney's The Lion King Saturday, April 25, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Omaha's Orpheum Theater. Performed in a supportive and judgment-free environment, this show will provide the opportunity for families and friends with children or adults affected by autism and other sensory issues to enjoy the shared experience of live theatre. 

Vivent Health (formerly AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin) and Members of the National Touring Company of The Lion King will present THE LION SINGS TONIGHT, a ONE NIGHT ONLY Cabaret to benefit Vivent Health and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The event will take place on Monday, February 24 at the Marcus Performing Arts Center's Wilson Theater at Vogel Hall, 121 E State St at 7:00PM.

Disney's The Lion King will leap onto the Marcus Performing Arts Center stage this Wednesday, February 5 for a four-week engagement through March 1. The Lion King is part of the Johnson Financial Group Broadway at the Marcus Center and Broadway Across America-Milwaukee series.

The Walt Disney Company UK today announced that Nick Afoa will be joining the touring production of THE LION KING from 30 April. Afoa is currently starring in the role in London's West End, where he has performed as Simba for three years after making his stage debut in the Australian production of THE LION KING in 2013.

The Blank Theatre in partnership with LA City College Theatre Academy is now seeking submissions nationwide from playwrights 19 years of age and younger for the 28th Annual Young Playwrights Festival. Submissions must be made online or postmarked by March 15, 2020. The winning plays will be presented by professional actors and directors in June of this year at LA City College's Caminito Theatre in Hollywood, CA. The Blank Theatre's Young Playwrights Festival is a nationwide competition that produces the work of 12 young writers each year. Since 1993, the festival has produced 332 plays by playwrights 19 and younger from 34 states.

The Tony Award-winning musical Disney's The Lion King international tour plays in Hong Kong for the first time! The show runs now through 12 January 2020 at AsiaWorld-Expo Arena, an indoor arena that can accommodate a maximum capacity of 14,000.

South African Lion King performer Nhlanhla Ndlovu surprised the entire cast of Disney's The Lion King and his girlfriend, fellow cast member Daniela Cobb, by proposing on stage last night at the Auditorium Theatre in Rochester, NY.

The production, which played 16 performances at DeVos Hall from November 20 through December 1, broke the box office sales record for a two-week touring Broadway engagement in Grand Rapids.

The Walt Disney Company UK and Ireland began their UK and Ireland tour of the landmark musical THE LION KING at The Bristol Hippodrome last night, Thursday 12 September. The tour will continue on to Edinburgh, Bradford, Cardiff and Southampton with further dates to be announced in due course
