The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University raised $1.35 million in support of the theater’s mission to expand the boundaries of theater through its artistic productions and educational offerings at its annual fundraising gala held last Monday, June 6. Original Teen Musical THE QUEST to Have Virtual Debut This Weekend

An original Canadian musical, co-written by a Juno-nominated musician, will make its virtual debut this weekend. Written by Juno-nominated Murray Foster (Moxy Fruvous, Great Big Sea) and Kieren MacMillan (Masters of Music Composition, Rice University), The Quest explores the courage we need when we exchange imaginary monsters for real ones.

PLAYDATE THEATRE Announces Conference Winners and Original EP of New Works

In December 2020, PLAYDATE THEATRE hosted a virtual development conference to empower new musical theater writers across the globe.  Four songs were selected by emerging artists from a cohort of 11 composers and 11 lyricists from all over the world. PLAYDATE paired each team up with one challenge in mind – write an original, holiday-themed musical number – with the winning composers’ teams to receive recordings sung by professional performers.

Historic House Trust of NYC Grants $100K to Historic Houses Across the City

NYC Parks Queens Commissioner Dorothy Lewandowski today joined Historic House Trust Executive Director Franklin Vagnone, Council Member Mark Weprin, Congresswoman Grace Meng representative Donald Capalbi, Council Member Koo representative Ian Chan, and seniors from the Jamaica Service Program for Older Adults Friendship Center at the Lewis H. Latimer House in Queens to present a $100,000 grant from the Historic House Trust to the City's historic houses and to celebrate Black History Month.
