Opera Maine will present an original production of Verdi's Aida, at Merrill Auditorium this summer. Performances are on Thursday, July 25 (7:30 p.m.) and Sunday, July 28 (2:30 p.m.).

San Francisco Opera announces livestreams of select performances from the 2022 Summer Season. Opera lovers around the world have the opportunity to livestream Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Don Giovanni, Bright Sheng and David Henry Hwang's Dream of the Red Chamber and the Eun Sun Kim Conducts Verdi concert, featuring Nicole Car, Arturo Chacón-Cruz, Etienne Dupuis and Soloman Howard.

San Francisco Opera announced today repertory, casting and reopening plans for its 99th season. Commencing with a performance of Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca on Saturday, August 21, the 2021–22 Season marks the inauguration of Eun Sun Kim’s tenure as Caroline H. 'PREFORMANCES WITH ALLISON CHARNEY' first evening concert of the 2017-18 season will feature preeminent musicians Kajsa William-Olsson, Elizabeth Mann, Donna Weng and the ARK trio (soprano Allison Charney, cellist Kajsa William-Olsson, pianist Reiko Uchida) in exclusive preview 'preformances' - anticipating their upcoming appearances on the world's most prestigious stages. The November 27th concert program taking place at 7:30 pm at Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Music Center will present works by master composers of the 20th century - Czech composer Bohuslav Jan Martin? and Russian composer Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev as well as new classical works by American contemporary composer Michael Ching.

Mezzo soprano Hyona Kim will join PREformances with Allison Charney classical concert series on November 27th for the second concert of its 2017-18 debut Season at Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Music Center. Ms. Kim joins host and founder soprano Allison Charney in a program which will feature preformances by Royal Stockholm Philharmonic cellist Kajsa William-Olsson who will play Martinu's Cello Concerto, No. 1 as she prepares to perform it with full orchestra later this season; Orchestra of St. Luke's principal flutist Elizabeth Mann who will play Prokofiev's Flute Sonata with pianist Donna Weng in advance of their upcoming concert at Princeton and the ARK trio, who will perform Michael Ching's reimagining's of five of Schubert's classic songs in his cycle Arrangements and Derangements: Interpretations of Schubert.

New York City Opera to the rescue!, opening its season with a lively revival of the Italian master's work about the California Gold Rush and the tough-babe-with-a-heart-of-marshmallow who runs the saloon.

The partnership between San Francisco Opera and the Bay Area's Classical KDFC continues with monthly broadcasts of performances captured during the Fall 2016 Season, including the world premiere of Bright Sheng and David Henry Hwang's Dream of the Red Chamber, and a historic broadcast from the Company's archives. San Francisco Opera announces a principal cast update for Dream of the Red Chamber, the new opera by Chinese-American composer Bright Sheng and co-librettist David Henry Hwang which receives its world premiere on September 10, 2016, with five additional performances through September 29. Japanese-American mezzo-soprano Irene Roberts, who is currently starring in the title role of Carmen, will now sing the role of Bao Chai, replacing previously announced mezzo-soprano Nian Wang who has determined that the vocal part was not a suitable fit for her voice and has withdrawn from the project.
