BWW Interviews: SRO's [TITLE OF SHOW] Cast Talks [TITLE OF SHOW], Vampires and Inspiration
by David Clarke
- Oct 7, 2012
On a beautiful Tuesday evening, I visited with the cast and crew of SRO Production's [TITLE OF SHOW], written by Hunter Bell and Jeff Bowen. They were hard at work in their intimate rehearsal space, and I was luckily enough to see them rehearse the rousing "Nine People's Favorite Thing" and "Die Vampire! Die!" If the small preview I saw, the camaraderie shown in the interview, and sheer amount of fun the cast and crew are having are any indication of what Houston audiences are in for, this is sure to be a stellar production.
BWW Reviews: SILENCE! THE MUSICAL Continues to Enthrall at Hayworth Theatre
by Don Grigware
- Sep 25, 2012
One is accustomed to the overwhelming cult following of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, where fans at midnight screenings dress in character and talk back to the screen. But who would have thought that an Academy Award-winning film like The Silence of the Lambs, whose overall tone is intensely serious and realistically creepy, would hold up equally well in the form of a spoof? And to which audiences would respond in howl-a-minute frankness and style? Well, it has surely happened with the award-winning Silence! The Musical, now in its Los Angeles debut at the Hayworth Theatre. But a few words of warning: really know the movie The Silence of the Lambs inside out, and if you haven't seen it in a while, rent it and watch it right before the stage show!

Blackfriars Theatre, a professional, not-for-profit theatre located on Rochester, NY's "Theatre Row" keeps the beginning of the Rochester theatre season rolling with the premiere of "[title of show]," a musical, with music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen, and book by Hunter Bell.
This Tony Award nominated musical finds two struggling writers, Jeff and Hunter, who hear about a new musical theatre festival. However, the deadline is a mere three weeks away. With nothing to lose, the pair decides to try and create something entirely new with the help of two of their best friends, Heidi and Susan. They make a pact to write up until the festival's deadline and dream about the show changing their lives. A tuneful love letter to the uniquely American art form.
